The 8 nights and the (mainly) resort stay are my problems ....just noted the CP Hunter Valley can count as my resort stay
...so I could aim for 3 stays totalling 8 nights (eg CP Hunter Valley, IC Sydney and HI OLD SYDNEY) for 126100 pts..decisions, decisions

...but I note I can buy 130,000 pts for USD 910...

Well the registration email doesn't seem to tell me any qualifying conditions. But when I log into my account the is an offer that says 1 stay and I get 50k bonus points.

I've got that as well. I assumed it was the same promo but no info on it that I could find. Be really nice if that was an additional 50k for 1 stay!

Good point...I thought about that after I posted that comment....however, all my travel and accomodation for the rest of this year are already locked in, so any stays I do for this "Win Big" promo will be additional (and possibly unnecessary) stays:shock:

'Big Win' = 62,500 points.
How do they arrive at these figures ??

A few questions, if anybody knows ...
Offers are from 1st. September. Only for new bookings - after 1st. Sept. ?? or will previously booked nights count ??
What about Reward Stays ?? I'm here at Crowne Plaza Canberra, checking out on 28th. August. Is this Reward Stay ( PB ) liking to count for a 'brand' ?? Also got four rooms for three nights from 29 / 12 to 1 / 1 at Old Sydney HI on Reward Stay as well ...
What about PP 2 for 1 stays, and Ambassador Weekend nights ??

Gee, this offer could be very complicated ??

Reward stays dont count for the promotion as per the terms and conditions, however prebooked reservations should, but this is IHG, anything is possible with their systems (I recently had an award that got credited back and I earned points on the stay as well).

I got an offer to accumulate 100,100 points. It says this in the T&C's:

IHG® Rewards Club members who collect airline miles with participating airlines will receive the number of miles as communicated in the offer. See below for list of participating airlines. Those members who collect airline miles from airlines not participating in this promotion will collect points for this promotion. At the end of the promotion the member can choose to have the points converted into miles by calling the service center.

So, does that mean if I complete the challenge and I collect airline miles (as opposed to points), I'll get 100,100 points direct in my Velocity account?

That seems a way better deal than collecting points, then transferring to an airline at 10000:2000.

No, you will get what your preference was when they organised the email (probably last weekend), so if it says points thats what you will get.

There are only three brands in Australia, in the past there have been instances where two members were listed as a guest in a room with the member booking having the requirement , usually the member booking contributes to the cost but gets the points. BKK HIX is good for this given its often $80 a night and a popular destination.

Yes. A London based member for example might be your room buddy and as a nominated guest check in before you. Unfortunately you get delayed due to a snow storm or similar. Hotels in the UK can be quite cheap if booked in advance.
I wouldn't promote or endorse any method like this of course

Reward Nights, Points & Cash, and Point Breaks stays do not count as stays towards the offers in this promotion.
