I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Anyone in the MEL domestic qantas club lounge at the moment? Can you please help check for me if they're accepting Jetstar customer with a complimentary lounge invite? I'm unable to link my pass online. Call centre told me the lounge is closed but I'm sure that's not correct. Cheers!

I'm not there, but with the huge demand for travel there are reports that in recent days they've been turning away guests. They will turn away complimentary lounge invitations before they turn away guests from some lounges, I think I read. If you can't link the invitation it likely means that if the lounge is open they don't expect to have room for those with complimentary lounge invitations. They can predict roughly how many are likely to turn up by understanding the numbers travelling that have access and what proportion typically would use the lounges.

Anyone know when the domestic lounges at SYD usually open these days? I'm here for a 6am flight and sadly neither the Club nor Business lounge opened before boarding at 5:45am. I recall they used to open at 5am...

BNE lounge advised that they turned off the option for complimentary passes from Thursday, expected to switch back on Tuesday once Easter is over

They still do according to the QF website
Basically QF can shut their lounges and/or change opening hrs at a moments notice - see Qantas club terms and conditions:

"10.5 Entry of Members' guests is subject to space availability and lounge staff have full discretion to deny lounge entry due to capacity or operational reasons"
"10.12 Individual lounge opening hours may vary by location"

(Interpreted broadly)
Basically if you cant get in there is no recourse.

Visited the HBA lounge for the first time yesterday. First time I've had a lounge toastie in over 2 years - wow it tasted good!!

As for the lounge. Yikes, what a shocker for a capital city. Bathrooms filthy, and nothing but plastic bottled water, in Tasmania of all places? I look forward to Qantas next e-mail telling me about sustainability, buying carbon offsets, etc. Flat out joke they have a fridge full of bottled water from the mainland.

On the up side the Wi-Fi was quick and the lounge was open when I arrived. I know the competition has nothing in HBA but another...eye opening, shall we say, Qantas experience.

Is there any movement on VA getting a lounge presence at HBA?
Not sure, but there was a purpose in flying QF for me on this trip (Gold status extension). Should've stayed in the city and had dinner - didn't know about the delay until in the lounge.

At least I had a row to myself - about 25 passengers on a 717. I had expected a Friday evening HBA-MEL to be pretty busy...

Visited PER DOM lounge yesterday for the first time since the pandemic. Fairly busy mid-afternoon (Sunday) in advance of JQ 987, PER-SYD. Just a few seat pairs available, although lots of singles next to others were free. Fresh wood-fired pizza was excellent, as was the fudge brownie. Not as much high-viz as I expected, and the bar was not overly busy. Staff did not even look at my Jetstar BP , just my QFF card, which makes me wonder if I could have visited even without having a flight booked...

At the Sydney domestic business lounge; the dishwasher has be enhanced to the great bing lee in the sky and the crockery and ‘glassware’ have been enhanced to disposable

Not sure how a paper plate is going to fare with the usual Sydney J slop - perhaps we will see an upgrade to party pies every day of the week?

Or better yet, they could drop past Bunnings Alexandria to pick up a BBQ and just run a non-stop sausage sizzle ... perfectly acceptable for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I can just imagine the new "made-to-order" marketing spin! (I should probably stop giving them ideas..)

Just the toasties back would satisfy!!

Currently in PER J lounge: I’d guess about 25% full. Pizza oven smelling wonderful. Dress code seems to have been relaxed, a gentleman in trackies and thongs just waltzed in.

Does anyone know what time the QF international J lounge in MEL closes? Is it when the QF9 flight departs? I'm on QR which leaves about an hour after that flight so was hoping it stays open till that last qf flight leaves.
