Is anyone in the Melbourne Emirates lounge tonight with guesting capability? I assigned my daughter a lounge pass but just realized Qantas lounge closes around midnight before the 2:25 flight

First time here in the morning and glad I usually come here in the afternoon.
This wouldnt be a great first impression if you've hyped it up as the service is so slow...coffees never arrive and staff seem a bit overwhelmed.

I can soooooooo relate to what you said about the SYD F lounge in the mornings … everyone is scrambling to get things done. There’s massive delays in delivery of orders .. I once waited over 30 mins for my corn fritters …

Yes, I had a similar experience when I was there in the morning - we were on QF1 to LHR a few years back and it was delayed because of a mechanical issue, and departed the next morning. The lounge was chaos!! All my other visits to F Lounge had been in the late afternoon or evening, and it is definitely much calmer then.

As an aside, we were bumped from J to F for the whole trip! I assume that's because a lot of other people took alternative flights, and as paid J (both WP at the time), they saw a chance to "make it up to us" for the delay! Anyway, it was a lovely way to end the delay saga.

Early morning is always busy. Don't order food unless you have at least 20 minutes for food to arrive.

If anyone reads this, QFi MEL J lounge is still open at 9.30pm ie now (but no food).
So only a quiet place to sit and pass time.
Yes to Diy coffee.
Cleaning staff already around now.
This late in the day, maybe J booking is only good for the wider seat on the plane.
Either rev tix or redemption.
I didnt have much expectations as my ZL flight was majorly delayed.
