I'm in the QF Lounge thread

In CBR QP. Staff periodically went around during dinner time with brioche hotdogs (stingy ones though, they cut the sausage in half!) and Christmas pudding.

I guess I should be grateful I get more than the sloppy Cauliflower Mac and cheese.

Hello
Just wondering if someone would be able to guest my partner and me tomorrow Thursday 21 Dec for an entry into the Qantas F lounge. We are flying in business QF1 to LHR.
Safe travels and merry Christmas!

Thank you DJTech

SYD F lounge waiting for QF23.

I didn't realise the breakfast menu is eggs, eggs and eggs with some muesli. No fried rice. Oh well.

Looks like @Hvr is on same flight?

In the SYD QP now. It’s actually quite nice when it’s not overflowing.

Coffee is still a lot worse than MEL’s though :(

In the BNE Int lounge for the next ~15 mins. Lounge is incredibly full and I saw staff turn away a bunch of people. At least the food is good!

Has the Emirates Lounge opened and have they opened the overflow area downstairs at the QF lounge?

Has the Emirates Lounge opened and have they opened the overflow area downstairs at the QF lounge?

Assuming you refer to SYD, EK lounge is only open before EK flights (so closed most of the day). Overflow area of QF J lounge has been in use pretty much every time I've visited QF SYD F lounge this year.

If you're referring to BNE, EK lounge remains closed (they're sending lounge eligible pax to Plaza premium lounge). Overflow area of QF int lounge was in use when I passed through BNE last week (early am).

Posts were talking about Brisbane. Overflow area on level 3 isn’t being used in the evenings just the main lounge on level 4, EK lounge isn’t due to reopen for a few months and in the meantime there is the QF A330 to LAX along with the EK A380 plus a handful of others that are eligible to use the QF lounge.

I passed through in the evening last week prior to the Qatar flight and visited both the QF lounge and then the Air NZ lounge. The QF lounge was busy but some seats at the high table, it had the better food as well. I don’t think it made a difference but I was warmly welcomed as a QF Plat flying Qatar but I wonder if they’d turn away others if it got really busy.

What's the overflow area of the QF J lounge?
In Brisbane the QF J lounge is actually three floors, the main floor on level 4 (up the escalators) is always open and then the upstairs (let’s call it level 5 is open 50/50) however post Covid they tend not to put anything food/drink wise up there.

At the bottom of the escalators on level 3 is an overflow area with its own reception, buffet and toilet. It’s typically only open in the morning peak. The space was acquired by Qantas when Air New Zealand moved out as it was originally the Air Nz lounge space before they moved upstairs (at one point before QF taking the space Amex had shown interest but nothing ever happened.

I'm in SYDd J and am pleasantly surprised that for first time in about 8 years they actually have bacon today instead of those insipid chicken sausages. Very happy to have made a bacon n egg toastie as I'm sure it will beat whatever snack they serve on board in Y today.

QPub is closed as is typical for this time of year, but so far JLounge is not too overrun with QPub refugees, got a seat with view no probs, although lots of unsupervised kids running around.
