I love this time of year where the holiday makers are at their destination and corporate travel hasn’t fully resumed…very peaceful and spacious.

Interesting moment at Canberra Airport: It’s the last flight of the day to Melbourne and for the first time in all my years of flying, I’m the only one in the Qantas Business Lounge. Never thought I’d see an empty lounge like this. A unique end to the day!

MrsK and I are in the Sydney Dom Bus Lounge until 5pm 5.20pm 5.45pm 6.00pm 6.10pm 6.25pm 6.40pm 6.55pm 7.30pm (here we go again - see my previous post from Thu). Can guest 1.

I like the new carpet, it's makes it look a lot better. Now, if they could just do something about the food options.

Footnote: Our flight left after a two and a half hour delay. The Captain provided us a run down once we got on board - the Dash 8 they had flown from Canberra to Sydney has mechanical issues, and then the replacement had other issues that needed addressing. That's fine. I just wish they had provided us with updates while we were in the lounge, so we weren't left wondering.

From experience over the past ten years, I think Singapore on a bad day is better than Sydney on a good day. There's one hot food option, faux Beef Bourguignon and rice.

It wouldn't take much to jazz things up

I'd take that over the slop they serve in the SIN Silverkris lounge any day.

Wow so envious. Sad I might never have a chance to visit the Qantas First Lounge in my lifetime unless I get upgraded to Plat from Gold from Qatar as a graduation gift. Sitting in the SYD J lounge as I type. If anyone has any First class access and can bring me in that would be much appreciated (and thanks in adavance)

Passports were required for entry to the Qatar and QF F lounge today. Must be a new Singapore requirement

Yes it is, first spied it on 28th Dec 23, first time in about 10 years, a very welcome return beats those insipid chicken sausages hands down.

Can't we have both sausages AND bacon??
