I'm in the VA Lounge thread

Yes and they've recently redeveloped the airport and nothing happened so it won't now. Plus they've closed Darwin and Mackay so I read which means it's becoming less likely we'll see any more new lounges.
VA also didn't reopen the Cairns lounge post-administration either.

Sydney Premium Entry was still closed yesterday morning, with a giant black sign.

At least security wasn't like the horror stories I had heard about on Friday ...

Security was easy at about 07:20 this morning at Syd T2. About 5 minutes queue then straight through. I was nervous too so took the train all the way to Domestic just in case, instead of my usual hop off at Mascot and a walk in to the terminal.

Food what is becoming the normal VA fare which is nothing to complain about. It's quite a good selection.

nutri grain, toasted muesli, bircher muesli.
passionfruit or raspberry yogurt
fresh fruit
pancakes
scrambled eggs & bacon
toast
freshly warmed pain aux raisin

Driving to Sydney domestic and will be there approx 9.40am so if anyone needs an invite into the lounge let me know. DH is plat and I'm gold so I think thats 3 people we can guest

Sydney lounge and we've been told they ran out of eggs and "we should have been here sooner" 🤣

Maybe they should have arranged more eggs but theres bacon so all good.
It was a bit disorganised this morning. I left the lounge around 9.30 for my flight to Melb. Just missed you!

And I in turn would've just missed you...left about 0820 for the 0900 to Melb.

Oops. Maybe I shouldn't have been a little piggy 🐖😂

Priority screening was open in Melbourne both Wednesday and Thursday when I came through. Airport had settled down after that chaos I saw late last week.

I had this in the Sydney lounge on Wednesday - is this a new salad or have I not been paying attention?

In Adelaide lounge. Is mini sausage rolls, cold bread rolls and pumpkin soup the standard dinner meal for virgin lounges? I am sure Brisbane a couple weeks back had some chicken dish or something with substance. Hopefully the food on board is better...

That’s not good. Adelaide usually has some decent food at dinner time. The Thai Beef salad especially is excellent

Was in Brisbane Monday afternoon. Didn't see anything substantial. The mini sausage rolls and mini meat pies went fast (I managed to snaffle two). They did have mini wraps though which I always enjoy eating (as a non-wraps fan).

Can also confirm Brisbane had karaage chicken with salad back in early April.

Yeah the karaage chicken was good. I think I was there in mid May and they had it then.
The food on the plane was good at least, nice chicken and mash dish.

I now skip the Syd Va lounge and head to either Bistro2020 or Movida for my breakfast / lunch / dinner using the $36 value I get from my PP card. :) ....if I still have time before my flight I might head to the lounge for a coffee...and I note the food choices available are meh...

The soups are pretty good but the coffee is inferior to MEL/ADL I've noticed

Makes you wonder whether the sandwich makers will make a return some time soon...?

Nipped into the VA MEL lounge after my domestic flights for before my transfer to the international terminal. I needed to fortify myself for the international security screening. I didn’t need to worry in the end - there was barely anyone there. But it did give me a chance to compare coffees in the VA and SQ lounges. VA wins hands down.

Chicken wraps and carrot cake were on offer at 11.30 am in the VA lounge. It’s the same carrot cake on offer in the SQ lounge. I wonder if it’s an airport wide bulk buy.
