This week I was / will be walking (sometimes run) through quite a few US airports.

Bumped into smiling salespersons inviting me to sign up for Citibank AA-linked Visa card !!!!!

Oh, I wish I could take that offer up - being chained here Down Under.

That would do wonders for mileage earn.

Is there any AFFer(s) who has similar US CC linked to AA ?

How did you do that ?

Would love to know the answer to this....

I did a blog on AFF on establishing credit cards in the US. I chose Amex Premier Rewards rather than an AA points system as Kris Flyer points really work a treat for us and I can warehouse the points to avoid expiry.

I think you need a social security number? And potentially US residential address?
Some one here has a US credit card but not 100% sure who, maybe cove? Somewhere there is a blog about the process undertaken to get this.

Edit: Whoops, one step behind cove!

I thought that blog entry was referring to a totally different thing related to how you get so many points!

Next time I'm in PER I'm hunting you down again! .... and buying you dinner ;) :D

I have had an address I can use in the US since 2002.Tried to get a Citibank card but you need the social security number.
Some types of Visa holders(not the CC) can get a US CC as well.

I lived the US for a while and have the SPG Amex which you can transfer 1:1.25 to AA. However, you're just as good if not better off with the Diners/MC combo which when recycling through SPG earns you 0.78 AA miles per $ on the MC and 1.875 per dollar on the Diners when cycled through SPG.

Let's just hope AA isn't next for devaluation - Big American AAdvantage Announcement Coming? - One Mile at a Time - One Mile at a Time
