Marvellous trip report, although at one stage there was a gap of a year in your contributions if I read the dates correctly.

I can recommend the train route from Beijing via Harbin to Moscow (Trans Manchurian). As one other AFFer said, Russians in Moscow can be quite rude.

Yes will be in Lombok for xmas

Yes there is a 12mo+ gap .... someone said something in another thread which reminded me I hadn't finished this report. I'd kept a bit of a journal the whole time so was just a matter of filling in gaps and adding photos.
