I don't think so as it says 'Priority check-in will be available to guests with a Preferred Boarding Pass within the allocated check-in times.'
It does however say 'Guests travelling on shared transport or arriving as a group will be checked in together.' and we have 1pm checkin so if we arrive (almost) together we are OK. ;)
Ms N and I would be delighted to share transport with you! ;)

It seems your cruise is a sell out, so I couldn't gate crash even if I wanted to :p

‘Like’ doesn’t mean I’m happy you can’t gatecrash :). actually, I think after 4 nights I’d need a liver transplant from recent reports

Are we meeting somewhere for sail away? Out of Adelaide the port side takes in a part of the beachside. I’ve not gone in a westerly direction (previously east to Mel) before so it might track along the beachside for a bit.
I suggest the Outrigger Bar, Horizon Terrace, Deck 14 Aft at the back of Horizon Court.

We could meet immediately after the Safety Drill and work out Dinner plans etc..... (Some of us might be there earlier)

room number E121 but can't work out when boarding time is; just says between 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
(edit Emerald is 4pm)

Also is it better to pack just one carry on bag or should you have the bag that keeps everything and have a smaller bag as like a carry on bag and get the larger bag checked in.

Also I think you can take one wine bottle each but just checking when they do that check, no I don't plan on taking more than 1 each.

Now to work out how to get from Adelaide Airport to Port Adelaide.

Another thing is what to pack, noting that Friday when we are in Port Lincoln is Australia Day.

We'll have a backpack each and a smallish checkin bag which just get dropped before checkin. Remember to print the baggage tag. Bags can take a few hours to reach your cabin.

I put my wine in my carry on.

There is a railway station almost right beside the port (Outer Harbor station). Details of the service can be found here: Adelaide Metro Journey Planner
From the Hilton to the port is about one hour and is free for the old farts (seniors and pensioners) and cheap for everyone else.

If you want the cheap and cheerful method of getting to the port:

As you leave the airport walk across the plaza area and turn left past the taxi rank. The metropolitan bus stop is there with a ticket machine. A standard two hour ticket will be about $3-4. Catch the bus into the city (J7 from memory) and get off at King William St. Walk north along King William St two blocks (or catch the free tram) to North Tce. The railway station is on the corner. Then catch the train straitman mentions above using your existing ticket. This will take about 2 hours all up.

Or: Catch a taxi/Uber to the port from the airport for maybe $40 and 45 minutes tops.

Sometimes you will find that your cabin is not ready when you board, especially if you board early. So I always factor in that I may have to carry my hand luggage around the ship for a while in crowded and/or narrow spaces, and therefore I don't carry on anything too heavy or bulky. But I always also factor in that I am unlikely to see my checked bag for at least a couple of hours after boarding and sometimes up to about 6 hours (and I've heard occasional horror stories about people not seeing their checked bag again until the next morning ). So I never put anything in my checked bag that I am going to need during the first afternoon on the ship. Eg sun hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes for exploring the ship ;)

I might look at taxi/uber/transfer direct from airport to vessel, don't want to waste vessel time.
Had to phone just before as I wanted to add the return flight, 20 minutes of my life wasted, hopefully done correctly.
Also logging into my account is still a pain, at least I can log in via the booking reference, so I could print the boarding pass and luggage tag.
How are you meant to attach the label to the bag with a stapler, yeah always travel with one of those.

I have a plastic tag that I just put that label into each time. Still not printed everything yet.

Are we using this thread as a TR or creating a new thread?

Speaking of travel arrangements, when we arrive in Melbourne am I going to be able to buy a Myki card at the port?

They just showed the Golden Princess on Adelaide TV. She departs here tonight as the first international cruise beginning and ending in Adelaide. Which is when we board. She looked rather nice.

You can buy them pretty much anywhere including many shops like their supermarkets and news agencies.

I have been known to take a small stapler or roll of sticky tape in my hand luggage! If not just take your tags and bags to the drop off area and ask one of the staff to staple your luggage tag on for you.:D

At least we won't need passports
