India Mandates 7 Day Home Quarantine for all Passengers from 11/1/22

Just discovered that India now requires 7 Day Home Quarantine for all passengers/all countries from 11/1/22.
Will now be cancelling my 10 day trip which was SYD/SIN/MAA/VTZ on 16/1/22.

I guess the mass infections on charters into Amritsar recently.
Wednesday 125 positives -78% of those tested and friday 173 positive -82% of those tested.

173 people on a charter flight from Rome to Amritsar tested positive for coronavirus upon arrival. That's an 82% positivity rate. Wow.

The India Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have published the new protocols with the guidelines essentially the same for everyone except if you are from a country-at-risk you have to have a PCR on arrival otherwise you go into a lottery for a lucky 2% to have a PCR test. Interestingly, the countries "at risk" are mainly in Africa with a few others that include Israel, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand (?).
