Indonesian Visa Discussion (Including Bali)

Not sure how many people are paying the 'Bali Tourist Tax'. We didn't pay it on our trip in July. Appears to be essentially fully voluntary.
It may appear to be voluntary @travelislife but it is a listed mandatory requirement.

There is a booth/counter just when you exit before where all the drivers wait, but everyone just walks straight past.
Yes, many folk do walk past but like @Pushka we paid the levy, though on arrival.

The counter was not busy, perhaps tourists are doing it online rather than on arrival.....

Well Bali has nailed it for those who had online visas and customs declarations. It looked like the vast majority on our Virgin flight did not. I was told by someone who has a friend in the 50 meter queue that they faced a 3 hour wait, which makes sense given the time it took my to complete them at home. Two scans, one of the passport (which linked to the visa) and the other of the declaration and we were through in 5 minutes. I wish Australia had as good a system.

Exiting can be a little more tricky. It's not automated like the entry is.

Thanks. Yes I guessed this. There’s the luggage checks too.

But credit to Bali. My son, who was in Bali too, is a senior IT professional and one of his team’s tasks is to get university systems compatible. It’s harder than people think. He was very impressed with the entry system.

And now:
That’s the old Covid thingy. When did that come back? It wasn’t required a couple of weeks ago and I’m not planning to do it heading home in a weeks time.

Yeah, same.
I'm hoping EVoa done by 31st October but knowing my luck it will kick in on 1 November. Another health declaration. Next one will be bird flu. Likely temp monitors. Take Panadol prior disembark if plane travel (not sickness) makes you hot. Swine flu was another one we had to do a few years ago.

Any recent DP's on Int-Dom connections through CGK? We arrive at 0735 on SQ and connect to 0940 flight to DPS on GA. I know it's a tight connection but both inbound and outbound flight is from terminal 3 and now CGK has E-gates on arrival. I'm aware that I have to collect bags and re-check in for GA flight.

If everything runs smoothly it’s doable but any delays and I wish you good luck. I’ve had luggage take nearly an hour to come at Jakarta in the past but normally it’s not too bad. Have a look at the punctuality of the inboard SQ flight as a guide but I’d imagine they are mostly on time or possibly even early.
Just beware that at CGK GA close domestic check in closes at 45 minutes prior to flight and they are very strict on those times

Thanks. Checked SQ 950 morning arrivals seem to be mostly between 10-20 mins early every day. Arriving in SQ F class so at least I should be able to disembark quickly although I'm aware baggage claim delays may occur irrespective of class. One issue might be the QR arrival time and the likelihood of landing just after QR meaning longer wait time for immigration and baggage. GA domestic departures for that route are routinely 15-30 mins late. There is a GA 11.45 departure for the same route I could book if my plan A fails but my preference is to arrive in Bali as early as possible.

Hi, hoping someone can help. I'm trying to apply for eVOA for my trip in 2 weeks to Jakarta. I'm weary of scam websites, but looks like the old molina immigrasi website has been decommissioned and replaced by https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/services instead. Can someone confirm this is the right website? It looks legit when I go through the steps.
I am applying for myself and two children. Can it all be done under my account/profile? I tried doing this and saved each application (but not paying for it yet), but cannot find any saved applications under my profile once I start a new application for my child.
And one last question (sorry) if the photos I uploaded with the application is rejected, does that mean my application is rejected and I have to apply (pay) all over again? Thanks so much

Landed at DPS 1205 yesterday and out at transport by 1235
Line up at VOA was massive and would’ve taken hours. Showed health certificate QR code and straight through to Egates where there was no one on line. Straight through and then customs declaration was only about 10 deep. At baggage carousel by 1215 and then luggage came out in the first half dozen. Friends joining us today didn’t do eVOA and just took 3hrs to get through 🤣

Why? Oh, why….? 🤷‍♂️

Only school hols….gees.
It's just weird isn't it. Although we couldn't do eVisa last time as our old eVisa was still 'valid'. Thankfully line up was manageable.

Our next trip arrives 31st October which does of course herald that the visa payment will be dropped on November 1.

Passing thru CGK next in Dec & Jan. Fingers crossed the fee has finally gone by then!

I’m trying to recall if we still have to do the eVOA but it becomes free or just use eGates on arrival?
