I wouldn't go getting your hopes up people. On the last promotion for these upgrades we requested them on 3 flights on a SYD-LHR rtn and got sweet FA. YMMV

Last year under this promo I requested upgrades HKG - MEL for me and my 'step brother' and got them. Was awesome.

Hi all, medium term reader, recent registered user, first time poster.

I received this "deal" by email yesterday and jumped at the chance to potentially upgrade my LAX-SYD flight (QF12) on the 16th November. I'm only silver so I don't expect to get the upgrade, but I'm happy with the dice roll having never flown in J before! All work flights are booked as pretty much the cheapest fare available, so it's rare that I even have the chance to request an upgrade.

I don't know which I'm more worried about - not getting the upgrade, or actually getting it and having sampled what it's like on the other side having to go back!

Thank you muchly for your assistance sir, I'll be sure to look in to that!

OK: J/9 C/9 D/9 I/3 U/0 is what it says for business, but we're still a week out.

If I read the thread you linked correctly, D and I are the numbers I should be looking at, but I'm not experienced in these matters at all to know if this represents a decent chance.

I would just like to thank QANTAS, for sending me an email yesterday, offering me the opportunity to upgrade my 'O' ticket on my flight to LAX next wednesday, using my points, so long as I applied for the upgrade before 10th November.
Shame they did not check that I had just used all my points booking an Award PE seat for my trip next year.
(thank you to the members that advised me to book an award seat 355 days out - got the flight and seats I wanted)
So, being a lowly Bronze member, I still got the opportunity to upgrade from QANTAS on a discounted ticket, what's my chances of getting upgrade at the counter when we check in ??? not holding my breath.

But by the looks of this thread, getting an email from QANTAS, is not uncommon, (there goes my thoughts of being special :()

The "cancel upgrade request" button will show for some bookings - I have not ascertained why.

when it does not appear you need to telephone Qantas to ask for the request to be cancelled.
I was lucky enough to have received this offer for the trip that I'm on now, and my SIN-LHR flight was upgraded last week! I had also put in for upgrades FRA-SIN and SIN-BNE in February (on the same PNR), but as they are O class, the 'cancel' button isn't showing... as I'm abroad (and obviously don't want to pay for roaming or muck around with hotel phones and foreign voice sims (already have enough foreign data sims (with no voice credit)), is there another way to have my upgrade requests cancelled on these flights (such an email address that will read their mail by Feb 1)?

Many thanks!

I missed out on the deal last year because my children were on a different booking reference from my wife and myself, but when we were checked in for our Red deal elcheapo LA QF93 flight, we were all upgraded to Premium. Same thing happened this week on a SYD/MEL flight with Virgin. The whole family got upgraded to PE/Biz (but I am Plat with VA)
