International Upgrades - Improved Experience

A weird thing happening with my booking this morning which I don't understand.
Flight today, upgrade request for J-F. Within the last 24 hours the ghost upgrade segment appeared and disappeared. Now looking at the booking there is no upgrade request visible at all. Normally it says "upgrade to etc, and 5 hours etc" or if within that time frame "request declined" but I've never seen the upgrade request disappear ??
Of note I also ticked the "upgrade at airport option" for this booking.
Has anyone else had this experience recently?

I had something similar happen in qf12 last week. I didn't get the upgrade (I had also check the airport upgrade option).

Qf11 a couple weeks ago I had nothing until I got the beep at the gate. So the new upgrade process does seem to work :)

Thanks for that, thought it might be some sort of glitch. I'll keep my fingers crossed then :)

Bumping an old thread to share recent experiences of the improved upgrade process.

Off to the US of A this Saturday. Had an upgrade request to J from PE for me and my partner. We are both WP. Noticed at about 10pm last night on E/F that my assigned seats in PE were vacant. Quick check of MMB and sure enough, upgrades confirmed. Strangely, I didn't receive any SMS and I was also not assigned any seats in J - I had to select them (only pair of seats worth having was 1A and 1B). Usually seats are allocated based on my preference. Anyway, interesting that the request was confirmed more than 48 hours out even though I'm just a lowly WP. ;)

I always get texts for upgrades on flights originating in SYD or MEL but never for ones that originate overseas.

I haven't received a text message for my last two J-F upgrades. Only alerted by EF email. I like the texts, it would be good if they could standardize this.
I have also received upgrade SMS for upgrades originating overseas.

I think I have always received the text for upgrades originating overseas but since I rarely have my Aus SIM in my phone when abroad, I haven't actually known that I have a text until landing in Australia.
