For the last week my wife and I (with separate QFF accounts) have had the same issue. I can enter the app and look at hotels, car rental etc., HOWEVER on trying to view available flights after entering detail and pressing "search" the APP goes to the FLIGHTS window and just keeps on trying to load and nothing else happens.
I tried this on my DESKTOP (Windows) and backup Samsung Tablet and they are FINE. no issues.
I rang Qantas and was told its a booking issue and diverted to Bookings. I explained again and said I realise this is NOT a booking issue but an app issue so they after a long winded explanation of I do not know what diverted me back to what they said was the Frequent Flyer division. And ..... same thing happened, diverted to Bookings, and then diverted back again... this happened for 7 rounds and after about 45 minutes.... I was answered by a well spoken English voice man who asked who I had spoken to before I only remembered 1 name as I had spoken with her twice. He said hold on and then I was disconnected.
I wrote to QANTAS and the reply showed the reader had NOT read the original complaint as he again said to dial a certain number(the original number I had called) and make my booking that way.. so obviously no help.
Has anyone had this issue? It does seem to be IOS/iPhone based. But HOW does one speak/reach the department who can deal with APP issues?
