Is Hobart the worst Qantas Club in Australia?

I confirm that the QP closes at 16:50 when the last QF flight departs. Note that the last flight is moving to 17:20 in the next couple of weeks as QantasLink takes over the service.

Feel free to check out ROK if you think HBA is bad, but be quick if you want a beer when a six pack is put in the fridge ;)

Not sure if any HBA locals can assist with this...

I'll be heading back to SYD from HBA in a few weeks and needing to confirm if what the QF website says about opening hours is actually correct. QF direct to SYD at 1230 is too early, so my options are either JQ direct at 1615 or QF via MEL. The JQ flight timing and cost is the most convenient in this case.

The QF site states the lounge is open "one hour before each Qantas departure" until the last QF flight (so closes for the day at 1720 with QF to MEL). Any ideas on how strict they are with being open exactly one hour before the QF departures? Does this lounge really close between the departure at 1330 to MEL until 1620 for the next QF to MEL? I can't imagine only 40 minutes of lounge access before boarding to be overly productive for those actually travelling on business

Not a local, but can confirm that angel told me last week they don't close between flights.

Yes they stay open during the day until the 5pm ish QF flight to MEL. If your JQ flight is delayed beyond the time of the boarding call for the QF MEL flight, well, you'll find yourself in the Gate Lounge.

Port Hedland International Qantas Club has to be up there.

Why it makes the list,
Small (less than a average master bedroom)
Always full
Beverages / Snacks generally gone
No toilets, showers
No chance of expansion
Lounge dragon is one tough lady

Update... The food seems be improving in the HBA QC. Greek theme tonight with stuffed vine leave Dolma, Greek salad, feta, and open late. Still rammed, but the extra seats by reception help with the overspill.

Mackay is very ordinary (although I did break the pancake machine).

Just ENDURED 2 hours in the Qantas Club in Hobart. For the 1230 flight to Sydney - delayed 90 minutes, food was forgettable. The bananas were rotten as were the apples. This is the apple isle for God's sake. Hint to Tasmania Tourism - give a free apple to all passengers that enter & depart the terminal.

BUT the most under whelming experience in the Qantas Club were the toilets.
Female (I did not go but informed by the better half) only one toilet for all the females in the place. The male toilet was also single but at least we had a urinal as well. I have smelt better public conveniences in China where they flush the squat toilets with used engine oil. There is no ventilation, the water proofing is growing mould where it has not disappeared completely.

SHAME QF

The Broome QC is pretty basic. Mrs coco and I were there in 2009. All serve yourself and not much variety.

May be the Broome QC has moved since 2009 or upgraded, i found it a reasonable size and okay selection for a regional town.
