Flimmin' heck! I'm in the process of getting my home loan refinanced with NAB. They're giving me a better SVR and 250,000 Velocity points. With these awards, I should be able to find 2 x Business Class seats SYD to LAX? Do they do MEL to LAX?

My post #167 explains it. I saw x3 Business class rewards on those dates. 1x business reward SyD-LAX seat is 94K points. I only needed one seat but the post was to alert fellow AFF of what seems like sudden availability.

No MEL-LAX but I'm sure she'd still be happy if you can find ex- BNE or SYD

I dont remember exactly but a lot less than Qantas

Why dont you log on the velocityrewards.com.au. You will find out the exact amount payable depending on your itinerary

Velocityrewards will give you the option of paying the taxes and surcharges with points or $$. I always pay taxes and surcharges with $$. Slide the bar to the left when you get to the payment section

BTW the "@" does not do anything in this forum. Most will put the name in Bold such as Kiwires

the Z fares ( business class rewards) came out less than 330 days ahead. I think they came out close to the 300 day mark.

I saw a whole batch for several days come out at the same time. Previous remarks suggested VA had to make sure the refurbishment timetable would support the release of Z reward seats for the days in question

I think economy and premium economy rewards come out around the 330 day mark

Thanks everyone. I was looking in January 10th-18th 2 x J LAX-BNE/SYD - will just keep an eye out.

I have confirmed SQ J Booking LAX-NRT-SIN-MEL but I am thinking we would much prefer the less direct option at the end of our holidays. Of course the other issue I have is that I only have 100k VA points for now as don't want to move anymore over unless I can guarantee a seat.
