Hi All,

I need some advice from the brains trust on this forum.

I, like many on here, have hundreds of thousands of points sitting with velocity. With the current COVID-19 situation and virgins financial position I’m concerned that if the airline was declare bankruptcy points may disappear..

What’s the likelihood of this happening and should I withdraw my points by purchasing gift cards to get some cash value at what I have..?

am I making a mountain out of a mole hill.. or is there a real threat to my velocity points been wiped out..?

My orders were the 7th and 10th. Wine.
With the booze, there seem to be purchase limits on quantity. I went to Dan Murphy today and could only buy 12 bottles of wine in WA. (WA had a 3 bottle limit that has been lifted). They told me this was a Fed rule! I've got a lot more than that coming from Velocity wine. I hope . I have emailed Lathwaites asking them where it is from 7 and 10th. No velocity standard email. Wine shop purchases only.

Maybe some promising news for those that haven't redeemed on e-store or transferred to krisflyer. Of course will depend what they decide each point it valued at.

Hopefully it is true.. I will believe it when I see it :D

My commentary is a point of view that it feels unfair as the treatment of our entitled orders pre and post 12th August doesn't seem logical (unless there is a logical reason for this). That's the comparable i'm making.

I work in logistics, and I can understand the huge strain on their resources with the run on points. I guess that just chose a date where they said that they cant manage the workload any longer. Yes I agree they could have aligned that to the same time as the announcment but there is obviosly an underlying reason somewhere.

bottom line is, nobody has lost anything, by them cancelling a few days worth of redemptioin claims, and thats the difference.

I agree that it is a very challenging time for logistics - and I do support all essential services that help us at this time... but i disagree that no one lost anything... for some, it may be nothing as they do travel a lot or not that fussy on the points lost, but for others, it can be something they have been saving for a long time, and could be lost for good

I completely relate to this point. We were saving points for our international vacation this year to London and then changed it to New Zealand late February. However with current scheme of things , I am not sure if I will be able to book those planned reward tickets. Might not have lost anything financially but all our plans are going upside down.

I personally hope you can go on the trip that you were hoping for really soon :)

Got JB HiFi voucher today after ordering on 3/4.
To be fair to Velocity and their card supplier letter to me was posted 14/4.
So 9 days to get to Perth, Western Australia.
No wine yet

I also have orders from 8th/9th .... I am just hoping they are not held up somewhere in transit

Geez, what if we'd been given this information at the getgo when signing up? It could have stemmed the mass exodus right now if people were reassured that measures were in place in case of a major scenario.

I would say they would prefer us not touch the points and leave it as is

Waiting for JB ordered on 5/4. In Melbourne... should be a little closer to Sydney where it's despatched.

It wouldn't reassure me particularly. Can only imagine what the exchange rate of velocity points to cash would be!

Does anyone know how to track existing orders placed? Since they've closed off the 'shop with points' section, I can't seem to find my existing orders....

Assuming yours was an item shipped from Harvey Norman, send them an email here
They normally respond within the day, at least mine did and gave me a tracking number.

Is there a way to track the status of JB Hifi GCs , like everyone else I am clueless about the status of order.

Doubt it

Every account on here says no tracking, just arrived on your door while status doesnt change

I've got a stack from the 8th pending!

7 and 10th wine orders. Emailed Laithwaites 2 days ago for Aust Post tracking number. Nothing. Doesn't instil confidence. Should have been dispatched by now. Playing games? Have they been paid.??? Will try to ring them Tuesday.
