Hi All,

I need some advice from the brains trust on this forum.

I, like many on here, have hundreds of thousands of points sitting with velocity. With the current COVID-19 situation and virgins financial position I’m concerned that if the airline was declare bankruptcy points may disappear..

What’s the likelihood of this happening and should I withdraw my points by purchasing gift cards to get some cash value at what I have..?

am I making a mountain out of a mole hill.. or is there a real threat to my velocity points been wiped out..?

Found the box, iPad/iPhone came TNT overnight express
Thanks I have checked tnt and my shipment number has 10 digits but tnt shipment numbers only have 8 or 9 digits so it mustn't have any correlation. I will just have to wait and see!

I realise I am most likely the very odd one out here, but I have been trying to cancel my panic redemptions from last week for an iPhone and an Apple Watch, so I can hang on to my Velocity points… and take the chance I can either fly more F or J, or still get ~0.5 cpd out of them again in the future.

Well the good news is I've heard back from Harvey Norman, and they've successfully cancelled the orders! I also have an email from the Velocity Rewards Store confirming they've received the refund request. Email to them was sent them on Monday, and they actually responded saying they hadn't even received the order from Velocity yet, but would cancel once they got it. Which they then did.

So for anyone hoping their order will be fulfilled, it seems very believable to me that everything is just running super slow because of the volume of orders. Hopefully I've lessened that load a tiny bit for the rest of you. 😉
Oh wow, ballsy move! But best of luck to you, seriously!

I would highly doubt there won’t be a devalue of velocity points once you’re able to redeem again, that is if velocity survive!
Velocity is now one of virgin’s creditors, where they are owed 200million, of which they will not see one cent of that.
I’m not sure how they’ll be able to afford to pay out all the existing velocity points without a substantial deval!

My wine orders from the 6th and 8th have updated this morning to "dispatched" with tracking numbers.

Ok finally a data point to share!

1 GC ordered on 4th April has finally arrived - very strangely by regular post which is a bit worrying in itself. Previous have been registered post as its basically mailing cash! What if it was stolen?!

My GC ordered on 05/04 was marked as processing on 22/04. I guess with Post delays, hopefully I should be receiving it soon?

I think you will get yours - if it is marked processing - that means they are preparing your gift card orders

I received an email confirming that whilst redemptions have been halted, my gift card was processing

I think they meant future redemptions will have trouble... but those that have already made before the administration have a chance of receiving the goods

I didnt check mine as i already got it and I didnt check it when i ordered
I've got wine and gift card orders from 8th and 9th

I've got a few "your orders are processing" emails but i don't have any other updates, I got those orders pretty much the moment I clicked submit

Maybe this week

Received the first part of a two part order on Friday. Can't quite remember now when it was placed. Either 7th or 9th.

I can't read the full article but can only see point value dropping

He said points were likely to be devalued, resulting in a benefit that three months ago might cost 100,000 points, costing, for example, 125,000 points in the future.

according to frequent flyer points expert Steve Hui.

Ok. So just received 1 parcel from Moki. Via StarTrack. No StarTrack signage on vehicle.
Ordered on the 14th. So 12 days. Have 5 more orders to come. No invoice or receipt just what you Can see in the pic. 23E6C247-6A68-42A2-9A2C-9F8E6E4A7AC4.jpeg
