Is Qantas about to kick Y-class Platinums out of the First Class lounge?

Personally I think QF should have maintained some codeshares via Asia like VA has with SQ. But I digress.

From what I understand (I have NO insider knowledge!) it was BA not wanting to continue to codeshare with QF on their flights AU - Asia, so QF had no choice but to remove the codeshare.

I am finding this thread quite amusing. The OP has read something, proposed a suggestion about what Qantas might do, which is followed by a couple of pages about Qantas being coughs cutting 'benefits' etc. No mind that there is no substance to the posters suggestion.

Exactly - I think this image sums up the thread:

As an aside, speaking to an avid QFF the other day, and said he will boycott QF to Europe as stopping in Dubai is inconvenient as trips often involve combining Asia and Europe meetings. He will go over to CX as this is the easiest option in combining Asia and Europe trips into one. Apparently, previously with the BA partnership it was easy to fly SYD-BKK-LHR-PVG-SYD but the fares for doing this now are ridiculous.

On SYD-BKK-LHR-PVG-SYD I am guessing he flew BA to PVG and QF the rest? Well after the recent changes BA BKK-LHR-PVG and now he gets better connections via CX? I do fell there is a little nose cutting to face spiting going on - why not try to make the most of this than spitting the dummy?

BA and Qantas are still code sharing LHR-SIN and LHR-BKK, not sure about LHR-HKG. At present the only prices on offer are full fare, hopefully that will change.

As for options avoiding DXB, I tried to get prices on both Cathay and Malaysian for my upcoming CBR-LHR-BKK-CBR trip. Cathay would only allow me to price the trip CBR-LHR-BKK-SYD and wanted $12,000 (same if I choose SYD-LHR-BKK-SYD) and MAS couldn't even quote me. So not much option, especially with Qantas/EK coming out at $1800. One annoying thing I found is LHR-DXB-BKK the best option is QF2 and the Emirates flight that leaves DXB at 8:50am, this couldn't be selected on the Qantas website but the travel agent no problem.

Anyway that's probably getting OT a bit.
