Is QF considering Lifetime Platinum?

Agree. We would never book JQ for business travel. Can’t risk it. And the new terminal in Mel is the pits and no lounge access.
It was in relation to the international tag flights, certainly a palaver, but for First lounge access? But not for work related travel.

QP access is available at MEL when on JQ, you just need to allow an additional 30 minutes and be prepared for exercise.

My biggest problem is I have over 1 million QFF points and can't use them as taxes and surcharges are ridiculously high and don't look like coming down to earth anytime soon. I don't want to waste the points but have no choice and as I hang on to them there is a huge chance they will devalue as is usually the case where corporate greed is involved.
Have you looked at using partner airline for your redemptions? It's possible to useQF points on CX & MH into Thailand with much cheaper taxes and surcharges.

I have checked. MH uses A330's which I try to avoid and CX-CX or CX-EK to BKK via HKG requires 50% more points so in essence the same type of cost. And if I then want to purchase a revenue ticket on the same routing it becomes expensive.

Of course QF Loyalty track the mix of QF group flying vs OA over the lifetime. Absolutely. The external view of this are the various changes to require a certain amount of QF/JQ flying to reach loyalty bonuses or the 2700 SC's requirement as part of P1.

Sure, QF get little from an AA PTY run, but changes to ensure max QF group metal flying address this more or less.

And honestly if QF were to say "OK LTP is yours at say 36k LTSC's with 28k LT QF group SC's" frankly I wouldn't be surprised and it would make sense even if unpopular.

yeah, nah. Not going to fly after a long day working in Melbourne (pun intended)

Still think LTG is the sweet spot. The benefits of Platinum aren’t that compelling. In my situation even First Lounge access at MEL is only a little better than having access to the EK lounge, so Platinum doesn’t do it for me (of course that is only until QF/EK inevitably divorce).

I’m not convinced the LTP incentive is that great - as if you value Platinum over Gold you’d be striving to achieve it anyway each year. If you don’t value it (like me) would you strive for LTP if you couldn’t be bothered even striving for it from year to year?

I think if they did that there’s a fair chance they’d make LTG require 14k SC still, but add a new requirement that ~10,500 of those are LT QF group SC.

. Whereas some of us would fly any airline to get out of ADL.;)
Oh boo to you too!
Adelaide has the best multiple winery districts in the world. Plus, we have Maggie Beer. Whom we see quite often just going about her business in the city.
