More and more often these days, I get issues trying to load www.tripit.com - it sits there for a minute or two trying to load and then get an error "Sorry, we encountered unexpected turbulence".

Has anyone else been getting this lately?

Not here, I am on the base version and have done some itineraries and hotel bookings today, as well as updating to bypass the forwarding of these things to them for recording.

It's only really been the last few weeks it's been flaking out. Maybe it's the Akamai farm in the UK... although I did try a VPN via another country and same issue although this time I got a 502 Bad Gateway error. Hmmm.

Just upload 6 flights up to Tripit and had notifications they were loaded within seconds. I seem to remember having problems when using a VPN last year, but no problems tonight..

I admit, I gave up on TripIt and switched to TripCase. I haven't had too many issues and prefer it to TripIt.

What were you issues with TripIt?, I am not the big traveller in the family, but it does everything we seem to need.

I was travelling in the Middle East for work and found that it struggled a bit with accommodation. I also much prefer Tripcase's push notification for delays. They seem to work much better for me. (I say this sitting in Langkawi airport having just been advised that my flight is delayed again!)

No problems with TripIt Pro these past few weeks. Was a bit disappointed with notifications though.

I always had issues with Tripit, so I gave up.
It kept duplicating everything. Every time a change, update or confirmation came through, it added the flight/hotel as a new record instead of updating the existing entry. I'd end up with 6+ entries for the same flight.

I always do mine manually, don't trust any auto import function!

Those issues are all quite surprising to me; I've been using it for quite a few years.

While I don't rely on Tripit (or any one website) for delay notifications I have little problem with setting up itineraries etc.

Does tripcase handle amadeus PNR's?

So do I, with the nesting and interwoven flight bookings I do, it's better to have all submissions go strait to "Unfiled Items". From there I move item to their correct place.

Like these?

They did my head in.

No issues from me either. I primarily use the app and never have issues.
I do recall having issues using the website when connected to a personal VPN but no issues behind the work VPN or using normal connection.

Never had a problem with it. Get Tripit Pro free through work too which is handy.

Yes. I’ve started sending some QF trips over to TC. It alerted me to a recent delay to QF2 ex SIN before QF app.

I use the pro version and it’s not very good. Doesn’t recognise changes in itineraries which are common practice in my case and notifications are hit and miss. The layout of the app is not friendly to find bookings fast.
I really miss MyFlights, it was a perfect app for my needs.

The QF app is pathetic. Regularly sends me reminders to check-in to flights I cancelled months prior. Never lets me know of departure gates or whether boarding has commenced until after I have boarded.

TripIt Pro only monitors itineraries a few days out from a flight - which is fine by me. If you need earlier notification then manual adjustment is necessary. But its notifications are not great. Sometimes helpful, but all too often too late.

I should qualify that by saying that it seems recognise flights for some Amedeus bookings. It doesn’t pick up seat allocation so I’m guessing that it isn’t directly accessing the PNR but is able to monitor flight changes once in

If manage load up QF, BA and JL flights ok.

I sent a new CX booking over for next year and that was a big fail. It assumed an August 2019 date was August 2018 and filed the whole thing in ‘Past Trips’... Took me a while to find it.... It also replaced SYD with YQY ....

But given that TripCase is free - still handy when it works.

I know only use TripIt for capturing travel history and planning details.
