JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

The Mar and May exists on the booking, but there's no F available to book which indicates JL isn't certain.

Right now F is available until end of October. November doesn't have F available which I take as a sign that JL hasn't committed to the 77W for Nov onwards.

Now you'd think that JL would keep the bigger plane for the Aussie Christmas season, but who knows.
Thanks, will have to keep an eye out for anything beyond November

Thanks for sharing this. Booked a couple of flights in F for Sep/Oct - hopefully no equipment swaps!

Does this mean from 01JUL24 it will be the 777 scheduled until further notice?

Great news! Can't see any F inventory loaded (on QFF or JMB) past Oct, hopefully it's a matter of time.

Set an EF alert for F>0. In the case of the most recent seat release, revenue seats and award seats were released simultaneously.

Thanks, I don't have EF - if anything I would plan for a F trip to/from LHR, so it would have to be released before my intended flying dates (coming up soon) otherwise the LHR leg would be gone if not booked a year out.

Or I could look at F via SIN (QF), which would be 3 legs. Then change to a non-stop SYD-HND when it opens.

Looks like JAL still has a few F seats ex Sydney - seems the hurdle is the long layover at Haneda (transit hotel is pricey but yeah)

JAL is the only airline to offer a first-class cabin on the Sydney-Tokyo route.

this starts on June 1 when the Boeing 777-300ER replaces the 787-9

I booked our family on J in December, still showing 787 on seat selection. Maybe they are switching the planes back to 787 in Dec?

JL does funny things with their bookings. It may be that they haven't decided yet and defaulted to the 787s. (That way they can't sell F then end up having to refund).

It was pretty much 787 one month 777 the next month (but no F) until the 777 was locked in. I would like to bet that the 777 will be around for the Aussie summer. They were scheduled for it previously and now that JL has a35Ks coming in they can play with their fleet a bit more.

777-300 is scheduled again from 30 March 2025

They are selling F although only loading 3-4 seats into inventory for some reason. (before someone speculates a miraculous A350 swap - those have 6 F seats..)

There were two F awards on 8 Apr available earlier today, although someone has just booked one.

Currently there's one F award on both 31 March and 8 Apr (the day after F1 at Suzuka). The fact they're even releasing seats around cherry blossom season & the F1 is pretty incredible...

Is that all the way to Europe or just Tokyo ?

The cheapest retail F ex Sydney into Europe was $10,667
$11,022 into LHR (APD Tax)

I’m pretty sure They’re sold out for this season …
