JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

I actually do wonder how the F loads are on the 777 for SYD.
Whilst we have high demand between HND and SYD, is it actually cash F demand or Awards and upgrades.

That might also play into the flaky nature of the route.
On the Day I travelled Syd to Tokyo i think there were 5 PAX

I booked a F reward via QF for early June next year on JL51 (777) - 2 pax - and I just checked on the JAL website - my booking is still showing in First so thats encouraging I guess.... am a bit nervous now after reading this thread today...

If they are running the 777 during the northern hemisphere summer then you’ll be right. It did switch in 2024 on 1 June as I took that F flight to Europe !

Question. We could only get J class on flight to Haneda as award. JAL52. What are the thoughts about row 5 - located just behind First? Any experience?

Well it is just behind F

Is seat envy a thing ?

From vague memory, it’s perched just behind the F curtain and so people can “observe” what they are missing out on. So if you are able to get past that…. It’s more like a mini cabin gig - the bulk of J Being further back

He curtains are drawn immediately after takeoff as soon as the cabin crew. Start to move around. I enjoyed row 6 recently.
Does the curtain get in the way like it does on Qantas. I loathe that curtain.

My wife, daughter and I are on JL52 today - cabin is full.

The crew have been excellent. Much more friendly and casual than I expected - the 5 month old may have helped break the ice. One FA is also near native in English which feels like a rarity on JL... or maybe they just hide them in First !

Few pics of the washoku course...

The Hibiki is loaded today instead of the Ichiro's Malt Chichibu JAL exclusive

The CSM came by with some "baby goods" for the little one - the tag is going straight on my backpack.

They mustn't have the usual baby goods loaded on this flight although we collected most of them (toy plane, mittens, kids sunnies, a few others) while my wife was pregnant. I'm happier with these anyway.

7.5 hours into the flight and the Billecart is still going but Queen of Blue tea just ran out. Not sure how many bottles are loaded.

PJs are provided on the day flight, and the large size actually fits me which is a nice surprise (188cm / too many kilos)
