JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

So now I've received about 10 emails from JAL and Qantas about it. Guess that's better than no communications. Flight out to Haneda also 'delayed' out of Sydney by 40 minutes which I'm quite pleased about being an early morning start.

JAL is swapping the route to a 787 after 29 Mar, downgrading my April flight to J. cough*

Any chance they'd reverse this, or should I just ask for a points diff refund now?
For actual flights, no this is the confirmation of their schedule and fleet change. Whilst you can never say never, the odds now are exceptionally low that the 777 is placed on the route for the time frame.

The great thing is the email has a priority number to call to request a refund of the difference in points... and of course the number to call has a recorded message saying to call 13 13 13. Nice.

"This number is unattended"

The SA call center is unhelpful as always.

I was looking in late September/early October and JAL's website has a 788 listed - not even a 789, so quite a downgauge from a 77W.

My flights in May have also just switched from a 789 to 788. Interestingly, PY had never been sold on those flights, which didn't make sense for a 789 but does for 788, so it seems this may have been the plan for quite some time but hadn't been reflected in the schedule.

Expect more changes this year, JAL reported this week they are not getting the Dreamliner deliveries they were expecting.

JAL notified the change on JL51 from 773 to 788 in early July a couple of days ago. 1A and 1C were the only F seats that had been occupied. We took up the option to shift our J seats forward to row 1. I'll winds...

cheers skip

They allocated us row 1 from the prized J seats in the F cabin. But we don't like bulkheads.

Hi everyone,

I'm due to travel in June on JL52 (so plenty of time yet) but I'm just watching this forum to keep up to date with the changes.

I was initially booked on an award First class ticket but have now been downgraded to Business due to the equipment swap.

I tried to ring the priority number but like bjm76 said, the number was unattended!! I then proceeded to ring 13 13 13 and it was such a long wait I gave up.

Now, my question is, would we be entitled to a refund in points? And I also now I have a 2 hour connection at HND to CTS-Seems like an extremely tight connection to me with an infant! I'm guessing I should be able to move this to a later flight?

I'm fine flying Business but I'm not particularly pleased about it as I've done quite a bit of research into this! And I'm not particularly interested in paying the required amount of points for first then flying business! First world problems I guess!

Also, if I were to receive a refund in points, how much would I be expecting?

Looking forward to everyone's response. Thank you!
