Dropped off in town.Had been told the Shetlands produce 80% of Scotlands mussels so tried to have them for lunch.Even went to the Information office who told us the best places were the Queen's or Grand hotels.Queens was closest.Sign in the Window said welcome guests of Le Ponant,Marco polo and Silver Wind.Open at 1600.Le Pomant had just left and the Wind's last shuttle was 1700.So went to the Grand.Sign there said Bar and Snacks open 5.30 pm.Ah the efficient Scottish tourism industry.Ended up going back to the ship and a late lunch of fruit.

That would be Sullom Voe, I’m guessing. When I arrived in London in April 1979 I scored a contract job at the company that was building the oil terminal, Constructors John Brown. I still have my work pass, I was working in the mail room delivering shed loads of paper about the building including large size architectural drawings.

The streets in Stromness are very narrow,Doesn't prevent campervans and delivery trucks from driving through.Every now and then a street widens so 2 cars could pass. However that's where they let people park.

But they tell me the diving is really good here. After WW1 the German Fleet was brought to Scapa Flow to await the result of the Versaille conference.Their Admiral, probably correctly, didn't feel the Germans would be dealt with fairly by the Allies so ordered the fleet to be scuttled.
