I see no one has commented that drron has a man bag !
I just assumed it was a camera bag but then noticed the size of the camera in his hand. Has drron become a SNAG? On the other hand, it was probably very useful to put stuff in. Noticed your purple baggalini in photos - how did you find it?

Nothing wrong with a manbag. More convenient than pulling a backpack on and off, and still keeps the hands free.
I HATE having to carry things in my hands when I am out an about.

On the subject of cherry blossoms though, that is an awful lot of cherry blossoms.

Again cherries are remarkably resilient-

Here in time.A bit windy and the blossom is falling-

We now left the moat and walked to where most of the festival stalls were-

Even there you could not escape the cherry blossoms-

We had several snacks here the best was tempura corn-a slice of a corn cob basically just the kernels in a tempura batter on a stick.very Moorish.Barbecued pork on a stick was another we went back for along with little apple snacks for dessert.
Then there was this device-

On one side there was a small hill with camellias.Views of Mt.Iwake but it was now afternoon and the light was against any good pics from this amateur. So views down to the festival it was to be.

Honey they have moved the castle!

Until a year or two ago the castle was at the far end of that wall but it was discovered the stone was sinking so they actually did move the castle to repair the wall and foundations.

Now it was our turn to walk across yet another red bridge to walk up to the castle-

I was at Hirosaki castle last April to see the cherry blossom and was absolutely blown away by them. It was breathtaking! I loved the apples and the range of apple products as well.

I am in full agreement with you.We saved the best until last.If anyone wants to see cherry blossoms in japan hirosaki should be top of the list.

Did you say that the Japanese prefer the white form to the pink? There have been very few pink blossom photos.

Yes the Japanese like simplicity so the single blossoms and white flowers.they do tend to become a little pink with time.Fortunately they do plant the pink, multi petalled and weeping varieties so you can still see cherry blossoms when the official viewing time is over.

Really enjoying these last few days posts drron and mrs.drron. Wonderful stuff.

Thanks for that and to all the others who have commented.
