JASA cash upgrade to FASA

Every carrier may have somewhat different designators.

In this case we are referring to Qantas flight number.

Understood; sorry for the ambiguous question. I mean, is there any information on the availability of P, U, Z, X fare buckets on Qantas partner airlines? For example, an earlier post in this thread suggested none of these fare buckets are available to QFF members on Emirates metal. What about if a QFF member wants to book a mASA on, say, AA metal? Or BA's? Or CX's? And so on...

I do realise these fare buckets are only available on QF flight numbers though.

Ta for the clarification.

There are reports/anecdotes around of mASA being available on some partner airlines using QF codeshares - indeed I saw availability on the LA codeshare AKL/SYD. However since they have gone offline it is difficult to pin them down.

If I upgrade from a JASA to a FASA with cash, does the change fee get waived. I've been quoted a change fee of $300 but conflicting advice on whether or not it should be charged as I'm upgrading to a higher fare class. Does anyone have any experience re this? Ta

I have never been charged a change fee when doing this, however i have always been upgrading to first on the same flight. Are you changing flight numbers or is it the same flight just in first?

I was changing from Mel-xSyd-Lax to Mel-Lax which Mrs B is going to be on. Anyway I called through to try again and wasn't changed the change fee. So very happy. First time I've done this so have to thank this forum for all the helpful info that is out there to maximise value for points and maintaining status.
