So it is self regulating, maybe they need to add a disclaimer :Jetstar Business Class *Self Rated

Are there laws against a dirty 2* hotel advertising as being a 4 or 5* motel?

Depends which rating system the hotel is using, if its using a system at all, and there is no disclaimer used by hotels! Hotel ratings are a bigger can of worms than airline classes.

Ask the Hilton Chain about that. When the rating agency was going to drop the 5 star rating on the Parmelia in Perth they pulled out altogether and "self rated."

Re airlines, there is no legal or internationally recognised standard definition on what J class should be. Hence airlines are free to choose the titles on their aircraft cabins. Consumers just need to be a little researched in order to establish what they're getting.

JQ should rename it back to Star Class. I liked it that way ... and then promote it as "their First Class" rather than "their Business Class". LOL
