Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Noticed another (poorly researched) article in the Age yesterday:

It's clear where public and media interest lie, in the cancellation of Bali and Honolulu, they get mentioned first. SIngapore is further down the article, it's destination of for the elite and foreigners, whereas Bali is where all the "true Aussies" (channel 9 viewers) go to. ;)

It mentioned:

The carrier also continues to face issues with its Melbourne to Changi service, with all of its JQ7 services experiencing delays or cancellations since August. On Monday, Jetstar’s weekly midday service to Singapore was cancelled. Last week, the same service was delayed by six hours and so was the carrier’s 10.40am JQ8401 service. On September 22 and September 21 the JQ7 was delayed by 10 and 11 hours respectively.

What about the delays on September 23 of 25hrs or September 24 of 12 hrs? Hmmm, not well researched at all. I guess on the weekend so don't count.

Would you cancel your backup Qantas tickets for jq8 Friday if jq7 leaves on time. Rang Qantas and they said I could cance prior to checking in on Flexi fare, not sure if it’s true but they said it.

Yes indeed, that's why I have cancelled my JQ7 booking for next month and booked (luckily) an award J ticket on QF81 ex SYD.

Someone's head should roll for this fiasco...
Hasn't some head honcho from Qantas just moved over to Jetstar? Is that a promotion, demotion or sideways step? It certainly won't keep him out of the public's firing line!

JQ7 left on time yesterday!

and scheduled to leave on time today! (dps JQ36 VH-VKG landed gate 7 0730).

its a miracle. powerball tonight!

we have a reward ticket with SQ, for next thursday as back up to JQ7. Problem is it leaves at 1000. so we have to make call early to dump JQ. My understanding, is you can cancel prior to checkin. I have JQ business, that can be changed/ pushed forward but not cancelled. I also noticed QF econ available for <$600 same day. so that could be last option.

all JQ international flights departing melbourne yesterday - except HCM, which was delayed prior to scheduled departure time - left on time,
todays flights scheduled to depart on time

Matt Franzi ( JQ Chief Operating Officer ) stated all -788's would be back in the air by today. Could we see -VKL flying ? It's been down 14 weeks since the lightning strike.

There's another aircraft due to be repainted soon (the speedtape issue) so that one will be down for at least 2-3 weeks. Maybe that's why JQ have halted all sales to Bali until 17 October

JQ7 (VH-VKG) departed on time today 3rd day in a row
OOPS… JQ8 the SIN-MEL return for JQ7 above didnt fly last night. VKG status is unknown, so I assume same plane?
Plane ? Or crew?

JQ43 MEL - DPS cancelled today. Probably due to JQ8 non arrival.

Jetstar status page also having problems. Showing Saturday when searching for Sunday status. Very misleading, will lead to more frustrated passengers

Lucky I got back on one of the few jq8 flights thst operated on time this month. Definitely not going to risk Jetstar again,
