Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Looks like JQ27 returned to gate after pushback?

You may be correct, but from a quick look at FR24, B788 VH-VKK took off on this 1505 hours scheduled flight at 1638 hours from Sydney with HKT suggested arrival 2111 hours, 61 minutes behind schedule.

The HNL-MEL JQ2 arrived this afternoon 33 minutes late at 1708 hours, VKA being the aircraft.

Perhaps due to SYD storms late at night, on Tuesday 24 January, JQ767 (1715 hours ADL-SYD airborne at 1807 with A320 VH-XNJ) diverted to CBR. It took off from there at 2201, and should arrive SYD at 2244 hours, 189 minutes late.

The ETD of last evenings JQ743 (the scheduled 1950 MEL-LST) was pushed back to 2230 before the flight was ultimately cancelled along with the return JQ744 which had earlier been retimed to arrive back in MEL just before 0200 this morning...

The thrice weekly Wed/Fri/Sunday JQ47 (1200 'high noon' SYD up to icy ICN) continues to have shocking timekeeping as highlighted previously above by Saab 34.

On Wednesday 25 January 2023, B788 VH-VKB was in the sky at 1530 hours so suggested arrival is 2326 hours, 181 minute sbehind schedule. JQ48 returning naturally suffers.

This aircraft came into SYD as JQ62 from SGN that has an 1115 hours timetabled arrival. This became 1203 hours, but even 1115 will never see a 1200 international departure leave in a timely fashion.

On Sunday 29 January 2023, B788 VH-VKE was on the almost always late JQ47, 1200 'high noon' SYD up to ICN. It took off at 1407 hours, arriving at 2204 hours, 109 minutes late.

JQ48 has been cancelled (2155 hours Sundat night Seoul to Sydney). It was very cold in Seoul overnight as expected in January, but I don't know whether the cancellation is weather-related or due to some other reason.

This again leaves JQi a major aircraft short down in Sydney today.

JQi goes from bad to worse. Why anyone uses it internationally is beyond me as on most routes there are reasonably priced competitors (not just low cost, but legacy airlines) that do a far better job at conveying passengers from A to B punctually, reliably and (goes without saying) safely.

There appears to have earlier been some fog in MEL as two NZ flights diverted to SYD early on Friday 10 February.

JQ732, the 0750 hours LST up to MEL (A320 VH-YXQ) was airborne at 0809 only about five minutes late but is holding above Korumburra, so revised arrival becomes 0936 hours, 41 minutes late. This is on top of yesterday's cancellations and diversions thanks to the significant Sydney storms.

JQi ops in the news again with a 787 going tech in ASP, no doubt knock on effects throughout the 787 network

JQ7 cancelled this arvo, it appears so that aircraft can be used to rescue the passengers. Passengers will be arriving into Melbourne minus bags too apparently.

In other news, seems to be a very high amount of cancellations across the network today. About half the morning flights from Sydney are cancelled, 1 in 4 flights from Melbourne this morning cancelled. MEL-CNS 6am flight cancelled, next flight at 8pm.

Ah yes, good old JQ7. A canceller's dream.

I'm booked to fly it in May, with a connection on to LHR (SQ). I've allowed myself 2 days in SIN to make the connection, but, alas, it may not be enough with JQ.

Following yesterday's drama highlighted in media where JQ62 passengers were marooned overnight in SGN, JQ62(D?) has B788 VH-VKG. It should arrive SYD on Wednesday 1 March at 1828 hours.

JQ37 looked to taxi out to the runway, very delayed then returned to gate and was cancelled not sure if a tech or crew timed out

Looks like there is a replacement JQ1037 for yesterday's JQ37 cancellation (already showing delayed)
Both the JQ17 + 29 and associated returns are cancelled today.
