On the credit card thing.

Its there a cool down period on CC's?

Can you apply, book the flight, then when you get and actually read the conditions in the mail - decline the card, and application refund?

I also find it bad that the reason for the exception is not yet widely known. I can't think of a good reason.

I seem to be unlucky. Every card I have ever got, within 3 months I get a notice saying something has changed by Barbara in bankworld.

I take great pleasure in writing back, canceling the card, and telling them if they can't provide stability at 22% interest, we are incompatible.
That, and that AMEX have again got hold of my address, and offering the unbeatable 'Accountants package'.

My GF signed up for the JQ MC through a referral promotion a few months back (where she gets $100 if approved and I get $100 for the referral). Her card has arrived - the $100 x 2 rewards have arrived and been redeemed - but she has not yet activated the card

And for those wondering, you would have to use a registered email address that relates to the MC (whether pending approval or approved) as I believe I have tried using a different email (for the sake of it) and it said I needed to enter a valid email. And yes you can pay using other forms on payment and not exclusive to just the JQ MC's.

Well that sux. One expects they would have to advertise in equivalent font size that there is a $49 fee for the card (similar to the ruling on driveaway pricing on cars).

Of course, that's probably not the case.....

Of course not- how would they know how many airfares you are going to buy with the card? If you buy 2 tickets then each one ticket is 24.56

You dont need to sign up for a CC to access this promo. As long as someone posts the link who does have a CC, we can all access it. This is what happened last time.

Why should you have to get another CC when someone can just put up a link for all to enjoy.

My Visa Debit card does me fine because I know what I'm spending and I don't pay any fees to have it or use it

In any case, how in the good name of small furry animals does a person under the age of consent (not to reveal the post author's age) obtain and/or use a credit card, anyway?

Then again, said author also has DJ Gold (and a plethora of other premium memberships), so....help me out here, people.

You can be under 18 for a debit card. That's how I got around it during my school days, importing stock from Asia and reselling locally - everyone figured I was a drug dealer. Anyway, at most you need a parent/guardian to sign off on things then you're good to go.

I know some people here have WP infants, pity they can't sign them up for Plat Amex charge cards

I understand for debit cards and that is quite easy. Credit cards is a whole different kettle of fish.

Just saw this in my email, it doesn't seem right that to gain access to this sale, I need to book and fly on a regular Jetsaver fare :shock: (even a sale fare is still expensive compared to Tiger for example)

Wouldn't they at least need to let people know where people can fly to/from??
What if there were only 1 seat on one flight per day to and from each of the destinations ?

Also... is this still considered part of the Jetstar 6th birthday sale =D haha

You can be under 18 for a debit card.

I have tried since 0700am and can't get past the luggage part. What a joke.

I had issues with chrome not displaying the insurance options, changed to IE and rebooked at 7.10 with no issues.

No problems on Safari, I agree it was rather refreshing for JQ's site to not implode. Bookings were up before 7 so I snagged a few then. I have to wonder how disappointed people who've signed themselves up to a CC to have such a limited selection of distant flights available for sale over such a small window. Hopefully nobody had high expectations, I got 6% of the available tickets on one route If anyone is still trying, is there anything left?

I used Safari, got all the way to the end, entered my card information, pressed book and said it was a duplicate booking. Changed the date to the following weekend and same problem.

Rang up and of course no record of a booking for any of the dates.
