Done and done. If my UK secondment happens I may get them to status match and chuck a few flights to *A...

Just as a test I looked to see what that would give me - tried LHR-AMS and that is 4500 points plus GBP36 for a oneway flight in whY - not sure if that represents good value?

Not really. I just did a dummy booking for a one way flight with BA to AMS and the fare was GBP35.50 including taxes

Yes, I signed up too, but 9000 points on BD isn't worth a lot.

With their taxes and charges (a bit QF-like), it is only 2-3 times the price of a FR/U2 purchased ticket. And the in-flight "comforts" aren't that different.

I think my 9000 points will be sitting there for an awful long time.

My points have been credited:

destinations miles to spend: 9000

Still considering getting a status match of either my Qantas Plat or AA Plat, but there's no chance I'd get it renewed by flying, so may leave it for a time when I'm more annoyed with OneWorld and thinking of defecting :)

15,000 miles plus GBP 100 for a Zone 9 redemption seems ok.

Australia (including Tasmania), Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norfolk Islands, Tonga,Western Somoa

It was pointed out on Flyertalk that you could get a one-way trip within zone 9 for 7,500 miles + 50 GBP. That's a bargain!

And only 22,500 points + 150 GBP in Business Class. I'm thinking Tahiti on NZ sounds like a good deal with Bus Premier accross the ditch.

And BMI has a very generous hotel points system. 1,000 points per stay seems pretty good if you do a few 1 night trips here and there. Wouldn't be too hard to wrack up the points.

Thanks to the OP, website didn't like me for a few days but points have posted now.

Is there any way to get AMEX MR into BMI?

Something like AKL-PER in business one-way should only be 11,250 points + 75 GBP, right?

For people staying with Hilton on a regular basis - you get 1000 miles per night with BD up to a max of 3000 miles per stay. Adds up well to that ridiculously good value F long haul C+P award. :)

I don't know how you guys get into the site. I have managed it once. And they say that the Jetstar site is unreliable....

I get in easily every time.....and have done so from 2 different computers.

Joined my wife and I up withouta problem and have been back a number of times...read various pages and even made some dummy books...all was smooth and without delay.

I did read on the Flyertalk Forum that if you were having problems to delete all your Cookies....

I tried 5 or 6 times on Tuesday night with no luck but tried again on Wednesday night with no problems. But yes, it's worse than the Jetstar website. It always took me right up until confirmation and then threw back errors.

Funny cookies are mentioned. I noticed I lost some of my cookies after signing up but didn't think much of it. I had to sign into FT manually, Facebook forgot who I was etc.

Tried it once last week, signed up on the spot and got my 9,000 miles.

Perhaps it's because I have a UK address...?

A BMI staffer @ FT had the following advice:

Having looked at the locations for a few of you getting this error I see that you are living outside of the UK. You may be getting this error when adding in your home address. When completing these details for a none UK address, please make sure your postcode is not added into the postcode box and all the address isn't added onto the one line. If this is done you will most likely receive the error. The flybmi profile can accept this format but the diamond club system can not so the 2 error out when submiting the form.

Has anyone that has joined up and requested a status match from OWE been successful?

(I've just joined considering it was free and gave away 9000 pts and that I'll be flying *A quite a lot in the future.)

Not personally, but I've heard that BMI is one of the more generous star alliance airlines re: status matches.
