JQ confirms it's joining Oneworld (according to press and not direct quotes)

Notes 2
"Members of Oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes can earn mileage on eligible* Qantas-coded Jetstar flights using these fares once their frequent flyer programme host airline has implemented interline links with Jetstar. Currently, this applies to American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Japan Airlines, LAN, Qantas and Royal Jordanian."

*Wonder what the fine print is re 'eligible Qantas-coded Jetstar flights'?

As mentioned earlier, one would expect that an update to the T&C's will occur to allow the appropriate earning on classes relevant to the fares being offered, such as L. Currently an 'L' class codeshare (if it exists), would not earn points on QF, or anyone else.

I wish they would just tell us that in the T&C so we can then self-manage our bookings & know the appropriate classes that earn points rather than it being ambiguous & open to interpretation.

Question for someone with experience with QF codeshares on JQ flights.

Obviously one earns SCs on QF codeshares but how does the QF codeshare airfare compare to the JQ airfare availalble at the same time?

It's probably not that relevant on round-world type fares as you can't really determine a value for each sector if you're paying one price for a 16 sector trip.

I guess you'd only be able to compare it on point to point travel such as SYD/SGN/SYD on JQ vs QF assuming there is in fact a booking class on QF that has a points earning capability other than JetFlex. No *C on A320's.

Some flyers are going to get a shock of their life when they arrive at MEL for their flight to SIN expecting a shiny A380 ... to only see a JQi 332 ;)

It happens every day on JQ30/29 and has been since the start. Oh well.

Red Roo could do with some imput here l guess.
Don't expect too much. I believe that their hands are tied and only respond where it suits them to respond.

Don't mean to be rude but their involvement on AFF ha been underwhelming.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, on Feb 1 they will do that.

Typically the inventory or fares applicable on the QF flight number will be V class and above, fares wise, you're looking at non-discounted fares (ie no super saver or red e-deals). Although a super saver inventory class may be available, no fare may apply.

This is certainly the case in a point to point scenario, ie CNSDRW. Some international interline fares with carriers such as AY, who use the QF codes on JQ to SIN, or even QF fares to Europe may use lower inventory on the JQ operated flight, but it is not always available.

..and the arnings table has been updated with:

Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes.
* Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned on Qantas codeshare flights (ie with a QF flight number) operated by Jetstar other than in Economy booking classes of B, H, K, L or Y (earn in L class is eligible only when travelling on a oneworld® fare product).
* Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn Points and Status Credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award.
^ Earn in L class is eligible only when travelling on a oneworld® fare product.

No sign of a 'D' class there!

No Business class inventory (I,D,C,J) is offered on the QF coded flights on JQ, only Y and below. So if you were on a DONE, you would need to downgrade to L with nil compensation.
