JQ - My Positive Experience

If you paid, pre-selected and moved to inferior seats without justified reason I suggest you write them a feedback. At the very least you should get the money paid for your seats back.
It's fine. We ended up with 2 aisle seats only 1 row apart. It's the principle of being moved after paying for seat selection that gets me angry.

Completely justified, I would feel the same way.

Did you request this move? Was a move suggested to you?
I was handed boarding passes that did not have the seats I paid for in advance. I wanted the seats I had paid for in advance but she just kept using excuses that contradicted themselves.

Even if flight was 100% full you don't stuff around the people that have paid money up front. Do you?

I flew DPS-DRW and BNE-NTL on Jetstar. The former flight I was on a SC run binge, I slept through the flight. The latter was short and sweet. Overall good experience recently, and in a weird way wished it was longer as given the context I wanted 1) sleep and 2) finish my movie

No QFd in NZ so flown JQ a bit here and also once AKL to MEL for work. No issues with flight or service, just gave to play by their rules and accept prob fixing if they occur won't be good. Having said that actually haven't had a problem in maybe a dozen flights over about 4 years.

OP, just thank your lucky stars that the flight took off.
I was happy (WAS being the operative word (at one time)), to fly JQ.
I knew they were sometimes late, and sometimes did cancel flights at short notice.
But if they knew, in my case, a flight would be cancelled 24 hours prior, they should have sms that info to me, instead of just as they did in my case, by blocking OLCI for my Aust JQd flight.
24 hours prior, they already knew!
At the airport, I tried kiosk check in, nope, still couldn't.
Spoke to a JQ girl at MELd T4, she said come back a bit later, so I went to the QP in T1.
2 hours prior, got an SMS, nearly missed it, thought that I heard something, decided to check, and yep, my JQd flight indeed got cancelled.
So I had to come donw from the QP, and go to QF service sales desk to buy another QF tix.
Went back through security and nearly forgot/left my phone at the security checkpoint.
NOT HAPPY JQ.
If you get a sms that your JQ flight is cancelled, and you need to run from QP at MEL T1, pack all things into HLO thus making sure you don't have a chance to loose it. Including iphone/mob phone/ipod/everything!
Yes, I do realise that all airlines might have delayed flights or cancelled flights, but JQ in my case should have informed me earlier.

Ah, I see, rose coloured glasses and all that jazz.
Ok then, oh, I just loved it when JQ gave me the possibility which I took up to fly SYD - MEL as a dom pax on an int flight. Airbus330 before they moved all wide bodied planes to the Boeing787.
It was nice, my one chance to sit in JQ business.
Few years ago, took JQ from LST - MEL, couldn't be happier.

=> AP - OP is appreciative of the service he rcvd from JQ - that is why I started this JQ - MY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE thread - if you personally want to complain about JQ there is another thread where you can vent all you like.

What about renaming this thread as Cruiser Elite's Positive Jetstar Experience? That should make it very clear, if it isn't clear enough already.

I am sure others have similar positive experiences so please share.

Probably not appropriate since I invited other AFF members to share their positive experiences.

Do you have any to share with us DC3? I am sure they would be appreciated.

I'm reasonably happy with JQ (and its international variants).

You can't set your expectations high.

But their fares can be great and their "business class" can be quite OK if you think of it as premium economy. And usually for a small amount more, you can earn QFF points and status credits - often more SCs than QF itself.

It's when things go wrong that problems can occur. But JQ have offered me refunds and alternatives including travel on QF when it was possible. Even QF and many other airlines can be stubborn in such matters.

I stick with QF as much as I can. I missed your general invite in post #1, so apologies for that. I probably got a bit carried away with your comments on JQ and missed that bit somehow.

I'm sure that there will be plenty of posts about JQ positives, here.

Edit: I see that one just came through as I was typing.

I very much concur with your comments, and I too haven't run into too many issues with JQ over the years.
I have even been offered an occasional fly-ahead with JQ, although rare, they have been occasionally offered.

Despite having to use MEL T4 (which Intially I really liked as a terminal and now I've realised is a quite a pita of a terminal) I find myself using JQ a lot more over QF on the domestic front due to the huge deferences in BFOD ( even when factoring in the addition of purchasing a " Plus" bundle).
It's hard to justify paying $200 + more, round trip, for flying on The golden triangle when points and status credits can still be earned on JQ when adding the plus bundle to a Booking.

No problemo Amigo - very easy to miss a single line at bottom of a post
