Well, with Tigerair and now Rex no longer flying on mainline routes, the domestic price beat guarantee is basically only good if VA happens to be cheaper than Jetstar but you prefer Jetstar for some reason over flying Virgin. Can't imagine that would happen too often.
On the international front, though, there are some seriously competitive fares from the likes of Vietjet Air, or Scoot or AirAsia. Has anyone price matched one of those super cheap Vietjet flights from MEL or SYD to SGN?
I did a few months ago. Was looking to fly from SGN to MEL on a specific date, and VietJet Air happened to be around $300
per person cheaper than Jetstar. We actually perfer Jetstar's timing as it allowed us to have a full day in Phu Quoc, where we would be coming from.
