Anyone with insights for routes they prefer for getting back to Aus from europe?

happy to leave from anywhere in EU, LHR / MAN / CDG / AMS / HEL / FRA.

BA availiabity seems to have disappeared
CX is just not showing up

kinda stumped, love some insights or options to look for with random connections. Thanks. (looking anywhere 15/7 onwards).

how many passengers ? and where in Australia ?

2025 will be awkward given only CI, JL and MH release their awards on time now. Everyone else kind of drops it in at some later point.

JL is probably your best bet on reliability and decent ride as well as having it released like clockwork. Although that being said, we're mostly through July now too so you're going to be losing options everyday waiting with these airlines.

points, doesnt really matter where in AU, will end up in CBR so will have some sort of internal flight after (unless i end up doing Nadi to CBR which is a maybe and shows the strange paths i'm toying with lol).

(just me solo and yes 25)

My quick searching has shown some success with Manchester to Hong Kong (AF + EK), Helsinki to Japan (AY) and Frankfurt to Japan (JL).

Can then then work on other options from there to get back to Aus.

You should be able to find something out of Helsinki to the various SE Asian cities that Finnair fly to. Frankfurt to Tokyo with JL was also popping up when I was searching for similar dates recently.

yea its the last hop into Aus which is the difficulty it seems, getting to SIN / HKG / HAN seems very doable but after that the options dry up for getting into AU

You can add flights to the booking later or book a seperate leg. Even if Qantas was releasing seats regularly, it may be too early for them anyway.

Options may open up later - Manila, Jakarta, Seoul and Hong Kong are generally ok options. BA and EK from Singapore.

Finnair has some good availablilty to Bangkok but easy connections from Australia lacking.

We're in the same boat. Looking to return to Aus around the 7 July 2025 departing from EDI preferably, but will consider GLA or LHR. Can get to Asia but nothing available through to Aus. Have booked a rewards flight with AY in J EDI-HEL-SIN departing 7 July 2025. Will then wait and see what comes up from SIN and worst case will pay for a flight home. There are some options in July from LHR to DXB and then on to SIN (F & J availability), but they mostly go via another port (Amman, Frankfurt, Milan etc). As we'll be in EDI it means a lot of stops and travel time (EDI-LHR-???-DXB-SIN!). Ideally would like to do EDI-DXB-BNE and fingers crossed something comes up down the track.

There is some availability for 1 pax from LHR to MEL (multi city search LHR-HND and HND-MEL)) with JAL mid July.

If you are really keen the TUN to BKK/HKG with Royal Jordanian for AUD 1400 ish one way is great have a few days in BKK/HKG then either cheap econ tickets or points back to oz. I intend to use that to visit Carthage next time I go to Europe You can fly Fijian back to SYD/MEL for 40,000 American miles from HKG.

or buy some American airlines miles if the right sal eis going on and for 85,000 ($2400 AUD) there are plenty of flights mostly on Qatar airways

I flew back form Cairo pre covid on singapore PE for $1000, not sure thats still avaliable.

If you are going down that path, there is often a CAI-SYD/MEL flight available one way in J for $2000. Flights are generally RJ from CAI-BKK or CAI-HKG connecting to either QF or CX.

From Europe, the painful part is often getting to CAI in the first place (compared to TUN which is much easier).

Or start in AMS CDG? KLM/AF is a QF ff partner. Is a recent post of some one using QF ff points on AF/KLM flight to Asia.
QF fly to DEL & BLR in India. As do BA
Multi city can show up options that do not show in direct search.
