Nice to have MunitalP, MunitalP + 1 and Ozmark on board for the JQ35 leg as well! I hope everyone enjoyed the day, and if you missed it, please remember you are only seeing part of the big picture, with three mods in attendance I can assure everybody the behaviour was excellent, to the point a lounge attendant suggested we miss the flight so that we could continue enjoying the hospitality!

What a day. Without doubt a great bunch of people.

Wonderful service from MEL FL this morning and a convivial way to start the day. The halo shot was pure coincidence.

We thought that samiam and Lawlass missed the flight, not realising that they were already on board, eyes closed and trying to catch up. Sorry to wake you up Lawlass :o

Arrival in SYD was strange. Went to the Arrivals Desk and were told that only QF transfers. Went to the Flounge and told they couldn't issue BP's as they had no contract with JQ for that process. Advised to head back to the Transfer Desk downstairs around 2pm to organise.

Food (both late breakfast and lunch) was impeccable, as was the service.
A couple of us were fortunate enough to secure appointments in the Spa.

Adjourned to the AFF section and relaxed until Spa time. We all walked out feeling brilliant - I even had a facial. Need to fly F or get back to Plat so my wife can experience it.

I was the last one to have a treatment and had a message to head straight to the Gate for my BP.

The fun happened without me, for when I got to the Gate my BP was already printed (thanks Straitman). No D stickers caused a bit of a stir amongst most of us at the aerobridge but they said it would be okay if we had our original BP's with the D sticker. JessicaTam and +1 (Danielle) already had got their return BP's so they were laughing - we still don't know how they pulled that trick. I had tried and was rebuffed.

The flight was uneventful with a group of us at the back talking strategy about the D sticker and Immigration.

That turned out to be an almost non-event, as they accepted our "airside" story.

We ended the day with a final drink in the VA Lounge, as per the thread.

Now back in MEL, just about to hit the HSW. Time for a relaxing drink and hope we see Princess Fiona. There may be drinks at any or all of the following hotels:

1. Rydges
2. IC
3. HSW

Then there is tomorrow :D

penegal and myself will be motoring to MEB tomorrow from the Burwood area so if anyone who is roughly on the way wants a lift there are a couple of spots available.

Definitely a great day! Flounge never disappoints.

I unfortunately have to bail on tomorrow though.

See everyone next time :)

Firstly thanks to Markis10 for organising this event. I only attended the Flounge run via JQ36/35 but I had a nice time and it was great to meet and chat with a few of the AFF community. Looking forward to the next one... I might even bring the rollerblades

Last F lounge do, by the looks of it.

Yeah have to agree there. Not really the responsible thing to do lying up on window sills. That's the kind of behaviour that gets access to the F lounge when flying JQ revoked imho.

No staff saw the window sill incident

I don't think I can make drinks. I really want to, but the couch is liking my bum too much.

Awesome day. Really liked all the new people I met and had fun with those I already knew.

Lovely to catch up with Straitman and LW in HSW exec lounge tonight. Fantastic service from Claire and the team, looking forward to events tomorrow :)

3 of us are cruising down the freeway, ETA MEB/Airways ~5mins

We are late leaving HSW and dropping Shrek to Tullamarine, before coming back to MEB for the tour (Straitman, Princess Fiona and me). Is it a guided tour? Shall we advise them of the group name on arrival?

I'm now safely in the MEL QF J Lounge. Had a great time at the MEB airways museum. Fascinating collection and enthusiastic volunteers. It was great to catch up and also meet some more AFF'ers.
A big thankyou to Markis10 for the organisation, and thanks also to Straitman for the lift to and from MEB, and Lindsay Wilson for the company :D
QF also came up trumps and offered me to change my JASA to a seat on any flight to SYD I wanted :)
See you all at another meet soon

I will second that.
In particular, thanks to markis10 for persevering in the face of adversity in making this weekend happen.

Sent from my iThing.
Why, because iCan.

I am still a little bit in shock that my actual workplace at one stage of my life is now part of a museum, although not because I worked there :). The is the flight data officers desk for the Melbourne North sector, where the strips were prepared for the controllers for procedural control etc.

Looks like a great day!

I just want to clarify for the more literally-minded among us that might not have picked up on satire, JessicaTam is totally not a DYKWIA, there was just this one very funny moment involving an aerosol can that had "been all over the world" with her. And a whole lot of humility when it was pointed out it was >100 ml :D

I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and will echo sentiments to markis10 for pulling it together and Straitman for the taxi service. Plus the convivial atmosphere of all attendees at the events. Was weird to be texting Princess Fiona from Lounge to Lounge. Got home only 15 mins earlier, after using FlyAhead but was delayed due to late arrival of operating aircraft. However, fate intervened and FB posting brought me together with my mothers' god-daughter, also traveling home on the same flight!

I believe the Aviation Museum will get some new members and donations this week. Was great to have input from markis10 and Straitman as well with their anecdotes and filled in the gaps.

Have many photos that I will get around to posting - a 3 day Conference on the Gold Coast Wed/Fri should give opportunity.

It was nice seeing you mob at the F Lounge followed by a quickly at VA lounge in MEL. Good work Mark for the organising, would have loved to come to the museum, hopefully another opportunity will occur. There is a liberator in a hanger being rebuilt at Werribee as well, it's worth a look, a lot of TLC going on there by a few
