Looking forward to this, about 4 hours till i fly Thai for the first time and then Lufthansa and my first time in J so will get to see about all the fuss up the front of the plane...

Can maybe also do my King Julian "Whatever happened to the separation of the classes" routine as well... :)

Also get my blog going to put up thoughts as i go through the trip...

I think the 36 hours i will spend getting to Miami might be a little tough, but gotta be a bit easier up in J than back in cattle class where i have been used to... :)

Enjoy...a little way to go according to Julien - This is first class. Nothing personal. It's just that we're better than you;)

Enjoy the trip casanovawa - you know the bad part don't you? You won't want to return to the back of the conveyance in future. ;)

pace yourself - Thai J has quite a few courses in the meal service!

Have a great trip - I'm hoping to do my first J next year.

I assume from the carriers that this is a US DM redemption?

That will be enough of that Amaroo!!! :) Because here in Perth our facilities are little dated we don't have many, if any, airlines that offer first class (maybe Emirates???) so flying in J is about as far forward as you can get and as the classes can be separated... :)

And yep Smit, DM redemption... I do have the miles for another J redemption already, so I imagine I will be flying J a little more often now, but still a man of the people enough to handle Y without too many gripes.. Well perhaps, we will see after this... :)

Does anyone have an opinion on which business class lounges are best in Bangkok and Frankfurt??? There seem to be quite a few options at each airport....

There were many other quotes however, the real funny ones would not be appropriate given you're actually hopping on a plane - indulge & have a great flight/trip:cool:

Congratulations! You will love it. But will find it hard to go back to Y if you need to. Trust me that's what I'm doing in a few weeks.

I know its a bit late now - but in BKK the only lounge that is true business class is the Concourse D lounge. It has better ambiance. The other lounges are all star gold lounges (so economy class). The D lounge is also by the spa.

Ok, finally arrived in Miami after 40 hours of travelling, and even in business class most of the way, 40 hours is pretty tiring!!! But in Y I probably would've needed to be carried off the plane!!! :)

And your not wrong Yohy, there were a lot of courses, I was accustomed to just the one in Y and after nibbles in the QP in Perth, 4 courses up to BKK, a few more nibbles in BKK and 4 more courses or so to ZRH, some nibbles there, 1 course on LH ZRH-FRA (missed out in FRA coz the LH plane was late arriving to ZRH) and about 3-4 on LH to Atlanta i was starting to feel pretty full... And that was without all the bourbon and cokes (plus a few other drinks) starting to add up!!! :)
