Just for my free VEDA Credit File

Correct and file accesses do not form part of your score or credit assessment for any bank I know.

My understanding is that no one else can see that you've accessed your own credit file.

Interesting that Veda note on their website that their systems cant cope with comprehensive credit reporting and cannot provide info provided by creditors until their system is upgraded later this year! Appalling!

Given that no one is actually providing that data am not so sure it's as appalling as all that!

I pay to get the quarterly credit reports, monthly score, alerts, and identity theft insurance.

I think the $120 or so I pay a year gives me piece of mind, and prompts me when I can churn CCs if I wish.

Received an email tonight saying starting very soon, credit reporting WILL be occuring.

[h=1]New features will be added to Your Credit & Identity member portal this month![/h]Over the past year Veda has been working closely with credit providers to transition to the new credit reporting standard known as Comprehensive Credit Reporting. Put simply, this new standard outlines additional credit information, such as repayment history information and details about your existing accounts, that credit providers can now report to us and use to assess your credit worthiness.
Some Credit Providers are now reporting this credit information, so we’ve introduced new tools and features in your member portal to ensure you have a full picture of what credit providers are reporting about you.
Please note that not all Credit Providers are sending Comprehensive Credit Reporting data to us yet, so this information may not be available in the YCAI portal. You will have access to this information as, or if, this data is provided to us.
What's new?

  • New Credit Information: Some Credit Providers are starting to send Veda comprehensive credit information like credit limits, credit account types and up to 24 months of repayment history,
  • New My Credit page: You will see a list of your credit accounts at a glance, plus key information reported to us from your credit providers,
  • Dashboard Changes: You will see combined credit limits as they are reported to us by credit providers,
  • New Alert Features: We know it can be tricky for credit active individuals to keep track of changes to their credit profile so now you will be able to archive your Credit Alerts for future reference.
If you have any questions about Comprehensive Credit Reporting or changes to your portal, please visit our website.

Kind regards,The Your Credit & Identity team

Personally I think that's good news, it's taken people a while. My experience in this area would suggest the big banks won't be first (aside from the fact that they are generally slower to get projects going, the benefit is less) so initially will be smaller lenders and the Internationals. But it will build momentum, the more that are in the more value for other credit providers to join because there is no doubt decisions are better with more information

Will be very interesting to see how credit ratings will change, for some, I.e. People who are generally good at paying but have perhaps abused CC application the benefit could be considerable!

I read the email as that it would be starting to show immediately-disappointed to see no new info on my veda site

I'll settle for Veda actually showing my file/credit score at all, let alone this new fandangled stuff.

Hi ComeFlyWithMe, which Veda product is this you're on? Exactly what I'm interested in however last time I signed up with Veda and paid, I heard nothing at all from them, ended up lodging a chargeback against my original signup.

That would be Veda Plan. Works well for me.

Just a question when applying for CC and your Veda file.
I've noticed on my Veda credit file that my address don't have unit numbers on any of them.
E.g. I live at 99a Aus Street, but my credit file only states 99 Aus Street. Will this affect how you're approved for credit cards or how long the application takes, since the address that I will provide the CC company, 99a Aus St, will not match with the credit file?

Has anyone noticed their application taking a bit longer than normal?

Amazing what an alert/review for Guarantor will do for your risk grade/score :D Seems to override any number of CC applications.

Not sure if you are a Guarantor for someone else or someone else is a guarantor for you from this?

My account has been cancelled (paid membership), due to expired CC on file.

Need to ring them monday to re-subscribe!
