Just one question - baggage checking

Thanks again to all the answers.

With the through-checking, how does baggage allowance work?

On my way back to Perth from USA, I'm going F-C-F-C. Would I be able to get the 2 x 32kg baggage allowance that is allowed to/from USA?

Thanks!

Through-checking rules depends a lot on the rules of the airline and if you actually have to physically check-in again.

In general, whenever you can go without checking in again, you can carry as much as your first check-in point, subject to other rules. For example, some (most or all?) airlines have a rule that if you are checking in to a domestic flight connecting to an international one (especially if they are on the same PNR, but sometimes this isn't essential), you can use the international allowance on the domestic leg even if the former is more generous than the latter.

You should check this, however, as some airlines enforce the opposite (i.e. where you have an itinerary where your first leg is more restrictive than the next or subsequent ones, the airline will make you comply to the most restrictive rules).

What is your itinerary from the USA? My guesses are that you will be fine. You will get your 2 x 32 kg allowance from USA (no choice, can't use weight system to/from USA) and whatever you come up against for the rest of your journey you will be just fine.

Thanks for that!

It's

JFK-FRA LH F
FRA-ZRH LH C
ZRH-BKK LX F
BKK-PER TG C

You should be just fine.

2 pieces @ 32 kg apiece. IIRC if you are a Star Gold then you will even get an extra piece. Assuming you're not stopping anywhere on this itinerary, AFAICT there should be no problems routing this lot to PER.
