While I do have sympathy for those of you with 'millions of miles' and a 3 year limit - although I do believe SQ did extend expiring miles earlier this year - I also have an idea to protect your miles.

How about spending some real money in the premium cabins you love so much when you can fly again. I'm sure SQ would appreciate hard currency rather than points redemptions at this time. If you reach PPS level, your miles never expire.

Yeah, I can't see myself being able to spend and fly $25,000 worth of SQ flights in the next 12 months while the borders are closed...

Where's the fun (& challenge) in that? ;)

It would be nice to have a 7 digit KF balance! One day (especially if SIA listen to their recent feedback!).

We have been enjoying/supporting SIA with revenue fares just not F. Really wish that SIA allowed family pooling....

Is SQ even receptive to feedback? I remember when they introduced a dysfunctional new website but refused to bring the old one back despite overwhelming negative feedback.

Already received an email back. It didn’t address the problem, merely pointed out the other ways of using points.

Email response back suggests that more than just AFFers are pointing out issues. The way it is put together...

Thank you for writing to us and we look forward to being of service to you again.

So I'll take up their kind offer in two days and contact them again, pointing out that they do not appear to have read my feedback - as they have not addressed any of the key points raised.

The normal 'contact analysis' will show an increase under the heading 'promotion', and the more replies back they get then the more the mgmt level exception report will stand out. Gotta love those graphs!

I got a reply saying the three year expiry would stay, no surprise there. Also said that I can pay to extend the validity of my miles.:(

I think I'll pass on this.

Currently sitting on 200k ANZ Rewards Points that I've been waiting to move somewhere. 15% bonus to Krisflyer at a 3:1 transfer isn't too appealing.

Previously, it always worked out better to grab a 20-50% Velocity transfer bonus and then transfer into Kris from there. Sadly, ANZ has been noticeably absent from the recent Velocity promos this year.

Leave it a couple of days and you could then reply (using the web page method which is tracked by mgmt) that if SIA want to get you to transfer across, given the uncertainty etc, then existing KF holding will need to be extended to 3 years from date of new transfer across - otherwise you will move them to another airline that does not have an expiry date.

...If at first you don't succeed - keep trying!

My reply from SQ was in effect:

We'll take your feedback on board and appreciate your feedback and it will be collated and considered properly for further improvements.

Same here. Plus they are monitoring the situation and if I want I can use my points for a toaster (not really but something like that)

For many of us, especially those who do not fly for business, earning KF from Australia is a hard slog. The conversion rates from credit cards are not great, so accumulation is slow. There are limited opportunities for sign up bonuses from card churning (and the bonuses there are can be quite modest). And the cash cow that was Flybuys via VA seems to have gone. So there is a risk of transferring balances and still being left with not enough points for the flight you want, or getting that flight and having a surplus left over that will be difficult to grow into something attractive. Being able to bank with the credit card rewards and transfer as required is worth a lot to me.

Obviously this is from the perspective of the leisure flyer who saves and saves to get to 200k - not the KF millionaires.

...so the response is...

If you wish me to give you more of my hard earned money then you have to make it more attractive vs other airlines. Other airlines have no points expiry & are offering transfer bonuses - they will get my money unless you change.

SIA needs the cash, just not as badly as Q does though.

I have done the maths. I have about 140,000 ANZ rewards points. If I dumped them all into KF, I would get a bonus 7,000 KF miles. That's probably not enough to make me want to transfer speculatively.

I took this offer up, now sitting on 480k miles with 2 years validity.
This was always the plan and only needed another 150k odd miles for our rtw Js
