KrisFlyer 15% Transfer Bonus! [Offer Extended to Jan 16th 2021]

As per everyone else's thoughts.... the 3 year expiry, plus the current balance due to 1st redemption cancellation sitting there. Running at about 2 years currently.

Is there a way to pay to extend expiry of points on KF?

Thanks in advance.

Couple of things...
The 15% bonus transfer, reduces the cost of a J return to Europe by ~$160 for me. Not much saving, considering my points would be locked in to an almost 4 year expiry.
However, as dajop said, if we aren't flying long haul in 4 years then the world has a lot more to worry about than flights on points.

A reminder to everyone who's intending to take advantage of this offer - it's best you transfer today (especially prior to COB) so that the transfer can take place and SQ/KF records receipt of the transfer prior to their deadline of 16/01/2021, 23:59 SGT.

....and you can combine this 14%/15% bonus offer (depending on how many are transferred) with the add 250K points to your account & get Gold status for a year. Some discussion (elsewhere) about whether that means if you transfer 218,000 points equivalent then add 15% bonus it meets the 250K hurdle.

Consensus: Yes but hoping someone transfers in the next few days to test it out.

SQ must be desperate for the revenue - they've never played in this space previously. I have heaps of SQ points already from cancelled pre-COVID travel. I'd give it a go for some more if they got rid of the 3 year hard expiry like CX has - though might mean it's impossible for passengers without status like me to redeem for pointy end redemptions like it is on QF as I'm Bronze and not WP. Guess I'll live with the 3 year expiry ...

Don't think the bonus will count towards the 250k as it says 250k points transferred in. The bonus were not transferred in

I was very happy to see this offer arrive in my in-box. I have points building up in my NAB rewards account with another 40,000 bonus points coming in the next month for renewing the card. Hopefully they land before the cut off date. Given how hard I find it to accumulate big numbers of Krisflyer miles the extra 15% (20,000) will be very welcome!

Pre-Covid, with a little effort (8 days checking) got the exact itinerary in F for Europe return for 2 people. Was flexible with the dates but ended up getting the 1st combination we wanted.

PS: Zero SIA status, got the balance via Velocity transfer back when...

I've had a similar experience -with sufficient lead time ad flexibility, have been able to find redemptions. Have also found some closer to my travel date (3-4 months) pre-COVID. We'll see what it's like now. I've already booked J travel for August. Looking forward to flying F again and visiting TPL again in SG. When will the makeover be finished?

I am looking at RTW Star Alliance using KrisFlyer points and United has overnight dropped Business Saver category totally. Does anyone know if this means J no longer bookable using United metal?

anyone waiting on VA to SQ points transfer re-instating news before jumping gun on the 15% bonus? at 1.55 to 1 (if old rate is re-instated) you'd have 0.77 SQ for 1 Amex point (with VA 20% bonus promo) compared to 0.575 SQ with this promo.
