others would be better placed to comment as I haven't looked into that well but my understanding is that you can't choose to cancel a flight if it's been booked at a date post points expiry - not sure RE changing a flight or if it was SQ decision that resulted in flight changes etc - I assume it does present some risk but I'm guessing the risk of losing points is if they were returned to your account

correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the 2 promo: 15% and Elite Gold are stackable.

From the T&C of Unlock Status Credits without Flying promo (https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/...ons/global/kf/kf-promo/unlock-status-credits/), you don't have to transfer the full equivalent of 250K Krismiles in 1 go.

So I'm thinking of converting some miles by 22nd Nov to get the extra 15%, and then top up by Feb 2022 to get the Gold status.

Yes, believe they're stackable and that's my plan too

So just want to double-check my maths here

Transfer 426,000 Amex MR points at a 2:1 ratio = 213,000 Krisflyer points

Then with 15% bonus will result in 213,000 +31950 = 244,950 Krisflyer points

Which then at 5:1 Elite Miles promo is 244950 /5 = 48,990 Elite Miles?

Sounds about right. Additional consideration, as pointed out above by fellow AFFers, there is a minimum transfer to get elite Miles, so with this first transfer, you will have to transfer a bit more than the 250k KF points threshold, which may or may not be a problem. Probably not a bad deal to transfer more taking advantage of the 15% bonus miles

Yes thanks for that.

I just read this on the SQ website which works out ok for me as i plan to transfer another 65,000 Krisflyer just before the end of Jan 2022

Conversion of Bank Points to KrisFlyer miles
Minimum of 10,000 KrisFlyer miles converted per transaction from reward points issued by any of our global bank partners ("Bank Points")

Just a thought. If you plan to aim for status renewal, you would be best to get just over the 250k KF miles a bit before the end of the promotion - which will get you to gold and zero your elite points balance - and then transfer the rest before the end of February to accumulate some elite points towards your renewal.

I just transfered 216,000 Amex MR points and instantly in my SQ login had the bonus 32400 Krisflyer and the 43200 Elite Miles

It appears i have to wait to get the Unlock Status Credits campaign miles to be credited for the Bonus miles.

As my date is Jan 2022 for Gold qualification i was going to wait until late Jan to transfer the remaining and get the 6,700 Elimte miles ( i already had 100 Elite miles from doing the promo where you update your details) Is that the best way to go about it?

my understanding is that you'll get 12 months Gold from the moment you accrue enough elite miles - happy to be corrected if mistaken?

Hmm the gold promo runs till Feb 2022. Why does your requalification say Jan 2022?

I am planning how to accumulate enough points to get *G through this promotion, but I do wonder why. Living in MEL, I only fly Star Alliance on occasional inter-continental holidays and that is on redemptions in premium cabins. I guess the status would be potentially useful in being able to buy an extra 6 months of points validity...

Just noticed this. It might screw me as I did two transfers with the second one calculated to just be under the 50k Gold qualification thinking bonus miles was already credited.

Access to other lounges perhaps?

As well as the warm inner glow of gaming the system....

So, what you're kinda trying to say is:

Before November 22nd 2021, transfer 426,000 Amex MR (see below).

Then in January 31st 2022 transfer enough to get you over the line to hit 50k Elite miles for *G.

Then before February 28th 2022, transfer enough to get you close to 50k elite miles, but not over then line, so you can hit *G easier for the next year?

Will this work in terms of accumulating Elite miles for the following year (2023) once you've hit *G initially, say in Jan 2022?

I think if you can get to 50k in early Feb 2022, and then get another 50k in late Feb 2022 you would get *G until Feb 2023 and renewal until Feb 2024. Someone correct me if my logic is wrong.
