Krisflyer Elite Gold

I'm Krisflyer Elite Gold and flying DPS - MEL on VA economy next month. Does this mean I get access to the DPS lounge that VA use?
Theoretical as there is no VA or partner international lounges anywhere to access on VA operated flights regardless of status or class of service.

Virgin Australia doesn't have a lounge in DPS so there is no access anyway.

Regardless when they did have a lounge SQ Gold was not permitted access as they never allowed partner elites to access 3rd party operated lounges.

Not strictly on topic for this thread, but very nearly... I can't tell from SQ's site whether you can earn Krisflyer status from Virgin Australia flights (not on SQ codeshares). I realise I can earn Krisflyer miles on any old VA SYD-MEL hop, but am I right to assume that I can't earn Krisflyer Elite miles?

Yep, Dajop got it.
Elite Miles is only earnable on SQ's own flights, ie, SQ metal.
Before the MEL - WLG SQ flights stopped, I did earn some Elite Miles towards PPS on that flight, but now, that particular SQ flight no longer stops in MEL, and its only AirNZ that does it.

I'm flying VA domestic but I'm a krisflyer gold.
I want to earn VA status credits and points so I've left my VA number in the booking.

However would love to have priority check in being SQ gold just by flashing my membership card on my phone. Is that possible?

Not fussed on priority boarding and have lounge access with my platinum charge card

I got upgraded last month from Y to J on MS from Cai to Amm based on my KrisFlyer Gold status :)

all I wanted to do was priority boarding and check-in. But at the check-in desk, I gave my krisflyer number and he said nothing was available as them being a partner?? 🤯
This was departing Melbourne International

Thanks!

Lounge access for flights in Singapore

Airlines is only allowed before flight departure (not applicable with connecting flight).

As a Velocity Gold, you'll have access only for KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

KrisFlyer Gold Lounge can only be accessed at Changi Airport.

You will depart from Perth.

Singapore Airlines only has KrisFlyer Silver in Perth which you cannot access.

This was sent by Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia is saying you can access all lounges. So it is quite confusing.

Appreciate your patience.

Singapore Airlines only has KrisFlyer Silver at perth international airport, which Virgin Australia gold or platinum members cannot access.

This was sent to me via Singapore airlines and virgin Australia are saying you can access any lounge.

Very confusing and misleading by both parties.

So basically for my connecting flight in Singapore, SA are saying you cannot access the gold lounge.

You can. More info here International lounge access | Virgin Australia

Anyone know what SQ classified as a child for lounge access is it over a certain age?

Flying PER-SIN-HKG as a VA Plat so hoping for some sort of lounge time but have a 1 and 3 year old.

Yes 100%

I often have a printed boarding pass in one hand and Krisflyer Gold on the phone with the other hand, just to save mine and the checking agent time from swapping things around.

This has never failed me at check in, Premium entry at SYD and BNE, and during boarding.

Would love to know about this as well, as I am in the same boat.

Did you manage to earn VA status but use KF Gold to priority check in?

So your boarding pass has your Velocity FFP membership number?

Im KF Gold, got a domestic SYD-MEL, I'm travelling with wife and a 9 year old. I know I'm entitled to a guest for VA lounge access in SYD but what's the kids rule?

For partner airline guests it’s just a single guest, the same guest policy that applies to VA’s own gold which includes children doesn’t apply. That being said it never hurts to ask but expect to be rejected.

IMO being a young child they will warn you and let you all in. provided the lounge isn't crowded.
Its what SQ does at its lounges for VA gold from reports on here
