There's still no sign of KrisFlyer resuming point transfers with Velocity Frequent Flyer. But you can now transfer KrisFlyer miles to the CapitaStar rewards program, and vice versa. CapitaStar is the loyalty program of CapitaLand, a Singaporean chain of shopping malls.

No mention of transfer rate though. I wonder how much (if any) one loses by doing a round trip transfer?

These programs are white noise in the grand scheme of things. I consider them to be a loyalty program equivalent of spam. There are a plethora of complicated, disappointing poor value programs in Singapore. Usually it takes a PhD in economics or maths to work them all out, they obfuscate information, have all sorts of T&Cs and are basically not worth the effort. I joke about any given promo or program that it would be really great for those spending $1000 at a specific shop on a specific brand between 10am and 11am on the first full moon Tuesday of a year ... you might get equivalent of $5 back if you're one of the first 20 customers. I kid you not!

In this particular program, it requires a minimum on $20 spend to earn Star$ and you earn 5 for each $ you spend. It also have daily caps (which admittedly is $1000 spend) and cap on number of transactions in a rolling 7 day period. $100 spend (as long as you spend more than $20 each time) gets you 19.2 KF points. Whoopy flipping do.

These sorts of programs don't seem to have made significant inroad in Australia, but here they are everywhere. Waste of time.
