Ticket Validity and Changing Dates (using current "pre-deval" rates)
As is commonly known (?), issued tickets usually have a ticket validity of 12 months from date of issue.
Say that a J award redemption is completed and ticketed on 1 July 2022, for travel in June 2023. Of course this redemption would be done at "pre-deval" rates.
If the ticket rules are followed, then the date of travel can be changed (pending availability of course) to any date 1 July 2023 or before. From what I understand, if the date is wishes to be changed to any later date, the ticket will need to be 're-issued', which then gives a new ticket validity.
The question is: How does this affect bookings made prior to the devaluation, and would a ticket reissue force a new redemption calculation, where more miles will be required?

However, it doesn't go into specifics about ticket validities, etc.
I can only assume there'd be a few people who would like to travel in the second half of 2023 using redemptions at the current rates, but due to the calendar not being open for those dates the only option is to make a booking for a randomly available date, and then change to the desired date when it becomes available.
