or more rule conscious?Same for CBR to MEL yesterday. Proof that Canberrans are just classier people.

And was noticeable that two pax in Row 4 put their stuff in the lockers above row 3. A curtain would have made it tougher for the items to be retrieved mid flight.
Honestly reckon it was just the short flight. Can’t remember if any announcement was made about the bathrooms - wasn’t paying attention.or more rule conscious?
They were both CLs (came out of the lounge just ahead of me exiting the J lounge) so clearly felt the entitlement. But the cabin is so open there was no loss of sight for their stuff. Did disturb the pax in J though every time one of them popped up to retrieve / stow their stuff. I was on the other side in row 4.I think this is a whole topic in itself As a security issue - theft does happen on planes - I'd never be placing my bag in a different cabin to my own. I guess without curtains it's easier to monitor, but if there is a curtain I'd never place bags out of sight like that.
I always listen to all the announcements and I think I was the only person in the J cabin watching the safety briefing. I always feel if the poor person has to give it the least I can do is watch it, even if I could probably give it myself.Honestly reckon it was just the short flight. I too put my book or papers down for the safety briefing - and usually get a smile or thank you from the crew member - but the cabin announcements post take-off aren’t the same (in my opinion).I always listen to all the announcements and I think I was the only person in the J cabin watching the safety briefing. my point of view is how do I know there isn’t something different if I don’t listen to the announcement - possibly I don’t fly enoughI too put my book or papers down for the safety briefing - and usually get a smile or thank you from the crew member - but the cabin announcements post take-off aren’t the same (in my opinion).
Perhaps next time if you are sitting near them put your bags above their seats. Then go and take stuff out and put it back and see what response you may get. They were both CLs (came out of the lounge just ahead of me exiting the J lounge) so clearly felt the entitlement. Fair point. But when you see them reading from a card or the iPad you know it’s the same spiel . Though not the case in the flight in question. I just switched off.my point of view is how do I know there isn’t something different if I don’t listen to the announcement - possibly I don’t fly enough

Public Servants travelling J not bad now I know where my tax paying dollars go. lolDid that yesterday afternoon to Peter Dutton. No word uttered at all. I was in 1A he was in 2F
He wouldn't have said anything cause he doesn't want to engage with other pax or public, not because he didn't care.Did that yesterday afternoon to Peter Dutton. No word uttered at all. I was in 1A he was in 2F

My 2 cents worth. If I am in J and see this happen (and I have even when space is available above their own seats) When we are at the gate and the seatbelt sign is turned off. You see them jump up quickly and go for a quick get away. I jump up and get my bag out in a reasonable time (at my pace) and make them stand there and wait. Have had some foot tapping on occasions with their DYKWIA attitude but alas I do know who you are "you are the person standing behind me" impatiently waiting for your turn to disembark the aircraftIt is another whole topic but honestly even the scratched up* purple/cream plastic divider thing on VA doesn’t stop this - yesterday saw people in row 3 and 4 stashing their bags above J and sauntering to their seat - which had space above it anyway.
*I say scratched up because it often is, showing its aged and this flight had been etched and graffitied with some very colourful C and F language which I showed the FA who laughed and said she’s sure it’s on the list to ‘buff out’.

FYI All, I sent an email to QF customer service 3 days ago and asked some questions about the curtains or lack thereof and my awful experience in J when I went to Bali in Feb. I got an answer yesterday afternoon (WOW) It didn't appear to be generic and was signed with a real name. They apologised for the experience and had logged my concerns with the Cabin Crew Management to investigate a separation cordon to be attached to clearly indicate the separation of the two cabins.Flew MEL-HBA in J this week and the crew were excellent and kept their eye on Economy passengers putting their bags in Business overhead bins and politely asked the pax to take them out and put them in bins above their seat as the bins in 1-3 are for Business passengers only.

"They also stated that the policy is the cabin crew are asked to monitor this behaviour to protect the integrity of the Business class cabin. Economy class customers should be directed to the toilets at the rear of the aircraft."
They also appreciated me bringing this matter to their attention.
So with that being said it might be a good idea to have as many people as possible that are willing to write in also. If enough of us speak up then perhaps they may take some serious action like the recent survey put out about QF using a bundle fare system like JQ and having people pay for food etc. They have apparently backed down and said they have no plans to go forward with the idea. Perhaps all the negative responses made them think twice. Anyway just MO
