Ladies who shop !!

I did start out this year with a very ambitious goal of NO spending on clothes and shoes. That went out the window in the January sales. I did stop the Peter Shepherd emails so I dont get those anymore and I do have a very good shoe shop in Launceston that I go in an see when Ron is working there. It is a small shop but she has great brands and free shipping ! I certainly have reduced my clothing spend. I am now limiting myself to Ted Baker and Sportscraft 😲

The interloper is back again and maybe I have a tip that can help all you shopping ladies out. As many retail outlets are closing their shop fronts for the foreseeable future MrsM seems to have come up with another way to indulge her need to shop.

I was informed this evening that someone will drop by the house within the next couple of days with a few items, this of course intrigued me and asked a couple of questions. Without going into all the details my beloved +1 informed me that one of the store people who happens to live nearby will drop off and then collect a range of clothes for her to try on, so that online orders can be placed. I must have looked shocked as I was reassured that this will be cheaper option than our now cancelled JP, UK and US trip. As normal I was hit with phases but now a little different to what I have previously posted, this time "the're doing it tough", "they need to say in business", "we are doing our bit for the economy", “it’s the best price I have ever seen" and the standard “you’ll get over it”.

In hindsight I should have seen this coming when last week some stranger and not the normal delivery type person knocked on the door to drop off a couple of handbags.

Georg Jensen sale finishes tonight. Prices seemed high but that happens when the gold price has risen and the $AUD has fallen.

The only thing I'm buying is food. I dont need winter clothes - Im not going anywhere. I've unpacked all the clothes I was supposed to be wearing in Bali right now, and this has freshened up my late summer store. I dont look at any fashion sale emails. I'm not going to Europe in July, that trip has all been unpacked.

Yes I think this is a time for us to look out for others who are struggling. I talked to an executive from Foodbank this morning as I finished my bike ride. Helping them helps many.

I've been meaning to sort through the clothes I don't wear as no longer working, many pairs of shoes as well, bought many as I can't resist a bargain.

Which charity shop though? Not too keen on the salvos anymore given people saying they have refused to take a lot of stuff.

Womens shelters, rehab shelters ect. The smaller, independent operators.

My new Noise Cancelling headphones arrived yesterday. It was quite hte day for deliveries - Mecca Cosmetica order of new face cleanser and moisturiser, the heapdphones, AND Vinomofo and Qantas Wine deliveries. The AusPost man with the wine deliveries must be surprised not coming to us today, as he's been here every day this week!! (The Vinomofo order of 5 cartons was delivered over three days).

Many charity stores in WA have announced they are closing temporarily (no reopening dates given yet) and they have said they cannot even accept donations as they do not have staff to process these.

Im waiting for the barber hair trimmer cutter thingy that I bought from Shaver Shop. I also have to watch Youtube to figure out how to do a flat top. 🤪

This may become one of my favorite threads to learn new tricks an how to counter them. As an update to yesterday's post my beloved +1 arrived home from work and asked if there had been any deliveries, I said no. She looked disappointed and said I will give her a call and disappeared to another room, so I now realise that shop person is in her contact list or speed dial. Apparently there is a new plan.

I am starting to think that when ever I ask 'is that new' and get a response of 'no' and some other words to finish the statement. I am starting to think and well let's face it I may be getting told a little white lie. Also both Mrs and MissM are wanting this virus thing to be over so they can 'get back to normal' and I will stop asking questions. Go figure.

Matt, learn the lingo...... is it new?, no, its been in the wardrobe for xx weeks.
Need to ask - how long have you had that dress? Or have I seen you wear that before?
Do you have a listening device in my house? My answers are below:
Matt, learn the lingo...... is it new?, no, its been in the wardrobe for xx weeks. Heard that one and sometimes it is not just weeks, it can months or years. ;)
Need to ask - how long have you had that dress? Normal answer is 'for ages', you never listen to me or pay attention when I am talking or you are not observant o_O
Need to ask - have I seen you wear that before? Normal answer is 'yes, I wore it to ..... are to telling me you don't remember

They say opposites attract and we have been married for 20+ years.

My hubby just said - Matt has 20 more years of learning....
My latest reply when he asks - New?? No, I wore it to work last week. Helps that hubby is away from home 3-4 nights a week.
