It is now 5 years since v1213 posted the following:
"I've got an upcoming SYD-AKL return status run on LAN and when doing seat selections online it appears as though seats 1A, 1C, 2A, 2C, 6D and 6H don't exist. Expert Flyer shows that these seats are being used for the Qantas codeshare (QF322) and hence why they're holes in the LAN seat map.
My question is what's the deal with selecting the seats that are on the codeshare? I called QF, who advised me to call LAN, who advised me to call QF.
Is my only option to wait until the 2 flights are combined into the same inventory at check-in?"
I fly across SYD - SCL on LA806/807 QF 27/28 several times a year - and I can guarantee you nothing has changed. Just in case some new development had occurred, I tried again today - am flying J class next week back to Chile on a LAN marketed QF metal flight.
Yet again I got the merry-go-round with QF saying I had call LAN, and LAN swearing QF were the only people who could allocate seating.
Would have been nice if this issue had been resolved in the last five years. Maybe in ten?
