Last minute dep Syd to TYO, Other Asia Options over 10hrs right after Christmas

Wife sprung on me she has 5-8 days off starting Dec. 27th/28th ...flights - of course - are atrociously expensive at this time.

Anyone spot anything tantalizing departing Sydney to Japan or anywhere else in Asia ...last minute of course!

Would appreciate any leads...nothing more than 10hrs I reckon.

Travelling Y most likely.

Heck, I would consider the South Pacific too.

Travelling in Y? Not my favourite carrier, but Air China (CA) still has some flights for AUD 1,500 to 2,000 around your dates (ICN, PVG, NRT).

Heck, I would consider the South Pacific too.

NOU is only 3 hours from SYD and you can still find tickets for ~AUD 1,150
